Great all around board. Had it for about 6 to 7 years. Got a great deal on it online with clickers and boots. However, as my riding progressed, I felt that it was need to upgrade so went with Neversummer Titan TX. Overall the fatbob is great but if you're looking to go down steep black diamonds or uneven terrain, you need something stiffer. I have the 159 model and for the buck, it's a sweet board. Highly recommended for beginners to intermediate.

This was the first board that I bought. I almost bought the Spitfire Wide and I am very glad i coughed up the extra dough to get the Fat Bob. I live in the south, so I make about 4 trips a yr. to the mountain. I would recommend this board to any free rider who is trying to move from beginner to the next level.......out

Strength:

Wide, fast, forgiving.

Weakness:

A touch too soft. Would like a harder riding board.

Good wide board. Moved from a Nitro Illusion 161 (cracked) to a Fat Bob 165. So far has ridden east coast powder, east coast packed & quite a lot of East Coast Ice. Bought it on clearance as a stop gap after the Nitro died, wide for when I go out west but okay for the east coast. I have to say I'm looking to upgrade my east coast board to either a Nemisis or a Union. No serious park for me but riding switch & hitting jumps this seems to spin fine.

Strength:

Wide Nice for powder

Weakness:

HEAVY HEAVY HEAVY cracks

I got this board pretty cheap. Now I know why. I hear all these people saying how good the board is. I found it WAY too heavy. Other than that it was decent. Nice and wide for powder but still heavy. I learned front and back flips on it and it wasnt too hard to get the board around. Another thing that I dont like about the board is how it cracked on me. Some nice long cracks on the top. It was a good board for $150 but I would have to say I wouldnt buy that board again.

Strength:

Floats _over_ the powder Great landings and stability Lightweight very controllable great base graphics

Weakness:

almost no graphics on the top

Me and a couple of my Gs decided to take on snowboarding this winter. I was limited on cash so I bought this baby on a sale for only $125, which was pretty cheap. My friends got some kind of burton precision beginner board for somewhat $500 at the same sale. Well, I will compare my story, to one of my friend's. With this board, by my 10th time I've considered myself an expert - jumping off the cliffs, riding at neck-braking speeds, and pwning the mugles (so that skiers eyes almost came out). I weight 190 pounds (little chubby :)), but so far the board's been just great - I float on top of the powder, I never fall down; the base is in perfect condition, and I feel super satisfied. But my friend, who's 160 pounds is struggling with his burton piece of crap. That thing delaminated on his 2nd time, and he had to take it back, and REI gave him a new one. The new one's cracked between the screw wholes on the second time, and guess what, REI gave him yet a new one. So far my friend seems to suck pretty bad - he gets stuck in the powder, he can't land, and he appears to have no control over the board. One day we decided to switch boards for a couple of runs (cuz I was making fun of burton saying that its a piece of crap), and guess what? I get stuck in the powder, I can't land, while my friend is jumping off the cliffs and having a great time landing and everything. By my 3rd run, that 3rd Burton board delaminated in the back, and some kind of material came out of it (it looked like my socks). This time my friend got a K2 fatbob like mine, and REI gave him 400+ dollars to spare. Now you tell me, who's got a deal, and who's got a crap.

Strength:

Wide powder board, great durability

Weakness:

Watch out for rocks....the base could use to be better.

I have riden my Fatbob hard, and today I managed to crack it. I feel real bad because I love that board. The greatest thing about my K2 is that it is light, wide, and very responsive......but now I need to get a new one......hmmmm K2 or Ride.
