K2 Bike Zeppelin Freestyle

K2 Bike Zeppelin Freestyle

DESCRIPTION

"Something that the engineers might not have realized is that torsion forks in the nose and tail give the Zeppelin extra stability for nose-presses and jibbing." -- Bobby Meeks Kinked rails to switched-up spins, park jumps and powder in the trees—the Zeppelin, K2’s stiffest board, is the definitive ride for the only season that matters. Constructed with a Mach 4000 sublimated base for uninterrupted glide, the Zepp has a medium waist and progressive sidecut and is focused on combative freestyle maneuvering and whatever else you care to throw on it. 3D Elite Cap construction combined with a superlight 3D wood core and K2’s patented carbon torsion forks translates to increased pop and more rotations. Act now and we'll include carbon/kevlar reinforcements, full-wrap narrow-profile steel edges and triaxial fiberglass.

All I can say is that this board is killer. A lot of companies will try to sell you on their latest technology, claiming that it's the greatest thing since sliced bread, then fall flat on their faces. This isn't the case with the zeppelin. I bought the 06 model on ebay a few years ago for dirt cheap. The whole selling point was that I wanted something more aggressive than my fatbob for the pipe and park. I read about the "torsion forks" or whatever they call them that are in the zeppelin. For the price, what did I have to lose? The first time I took it out, I was totally blown away. This thing transfers energy like a sugared up kid on halloween! If you like pop, this is the board for you. It's not just great in the pipe, it's awesome for free riding as well. It's very controlled and comfortable to ride and will put a drooling grin on your face when you encounter jumps and obstacles along the way. The only thing I don't like about it are the acid trip graphics. My name's not shaggy and I don't drive a hopped up van... Other than that, this board is killer. Pick one up if you can find one for a good price.

Hammer Of the Gods is pretty much the best way to describe this Zeppelin. I got the '05-06 model on closeout from http://www.evogear.com. I'm 5'9"/170lbs, but wanted to get something to handle deeper powder than my Ignition, so I went with the 158, though I think I probably could've gotten away with the 156. Despite being 2cm longer than my normal board, it is unbelievably agile. It's got lots of pop, but also maintains its stability. And MAN is it fast. I wear a size 12, so it's hard for me to find a good all-purpose board where my toes don't drag, but the Zep is it. If you want a board for park, pipe, or pow, then get a Zeppelin.

Customer Service

The board was slightly used with a few scratches- nothing you won't pick up on the hill anyway, and I couldn't beat the price.

this board is awesome. i go in the park all day and this board is perfect. it has great pop for huge airs and slides well on rails. when i do go free riding though it tears it up. fast and great on its edges. the board holds up well to. from hitting rails and kickers for atleast 4 hours every time i go ive only gotten nicks and scratches. great board must have if you like to snowboard.

Looks cool, rides nice. Its real light (not as light as a honeycomb tho).

Weakness:

I snapped it doing the lamest thing ever. during my instructor training. not even a decent fall!! No jump, nothing! Sent it back... still waiting...

02/03 board. pretty nice and quick, good for jibbing. Good over big kickers too, not too bad in pipe either.

Strength:

Super duper pop. The torsion forks are awesome. I am not used to such a light board that my airs are a little bit wobbly because I an stil getting used to having almost no weight under my feet.

Weakness:

when carving healside it looses its edge a little, I had to compensate for it so it would not loose its healside edge on real slick ice....but I am used to it now.

This Is one dope board. It is a 2003 and it has soo much pop and is so light. I also have a 2003 palmer carbon circle, and it does not even compare. This board floats and then stick its landings so well. I wasnt a big fan of K2 before I bought this board, but I will deffinatly have to give them mad props.
