Alpina BC 1575 Touring Boot Touring/Backcountry Ski Boots

DESCRIPTION

Gear up for another long Saturday tour through the hills when you lace up the warm and supportive Alpina BC 1575 Touring Boot at the trailhead. With a layer of Thinsulate insulation throughout, your foot can stay warm as you ascend the slow-rising ridge to a windy summit, and with hard plastic on the ankle, this medium flex, tall boot remains stable as you drop your knee on the decent.

Strength:

Had a pair of the Alpina prior model of these 3 pin type backcountry boots. The fit was perfect, they were comfortable. Great waterproofing and they were fine until they were involved in a flooded garage mess that made them mildewed and covered with mold. I was sick when I had to trash them. I used them for 4 years of nordic patrolling as a volunteer for the NPS and was thrilled every time I laced them up. The sole was awesome and grippy for walking when out of the bindings. I loved them.

Weakness:

Weight if you ever try them for faster classic parallell crosscountry instead of baclcountry trails. I tried them a few times doing classic style with my vintage 3 pin skis and could tell a difference.
