at Local Redington Dealer Body of Water: Saltwater, Freshwater Favorite City: Tallahassee Favorite State: Florida Favorite Country: USA Summary: For those who do a great deal of Saltwater flyfishing I would highly reccomend to demo test this rod. I was completely caught off gaurd when I tried it. This is a very fast action rod so be prepared to see the line take off. For top end rods the DFR is the best rod for the money! Strengths: Speed Kills! This rod blisters the line. I fish for reds in the Gulf and bones in the Keys. I have tried several fast action rods (GLX,T&T Vector, Scott STS) and the DFR is head and shoulders above all of them. This rod can make an amateur look like a pro. With one false cast a good fly caster can effortlessly make a 100 ft. cast. I have won several tournaments with this rod. The DFR 9 wt. is one of the best saltwater rods on the market today. I would only recommend this rod to the really serious saltwater fly fisherman. Weaknesses: None! Customer Service: Excellent! I accidentally stepped on my rod in the Keys and broke it. I called Redington and they had a new rod air shipped to my house in the Keys by the next morning. The people who work there are great & I dare anyone to beat that for service. They really mean UNCONDITIONAL LIFETIME GUARANTEE ! Similar Products Used: GLX, T&T Vector, Scott STS
