Summary: This Spring, when I whined to my Orvis dealer that I was breaking off too many fish he suggested fluorocarbon. I can honestly say that I'm landing more nice sized trout. I don't notice any difference in visibility or tangling than what I was using before.
Strengths: It takes a biger fish to break this stuff.
Weaknesses: It's pricy, but if you lose four fewer flies, it's paid for itself!

Summary: Tangles and twist more than other fluorocarbons. Bought recently for special fishing trip. Disappointed on how easily it would tangle/twist
Strengths: None, didn't see much visual difference between this product and standard nylon tippet material
Weaknesses: Tangles and twist more than other fluorocarbons.
Customer Service: Didn''t waste time trying

Summary: If the Orvis mirage is typical of the other fluorocarbon leaders on the market, we've been had! There is NO difference in visibility compared side by side to regular tippet in 3 different lakes I fish often. Not worth the extra money.
Strengths: Good knot strength
Weaknesses: price-it is twice the price of the regular stuff
Customer Service: na
Similar Products Used: I compared visibility in water with Rio and Fenwick normal tippet material-there is no difference.

Summary: Seems as durable as any product that I have used. I was not a true believer until the fishing results were in. I would recommend this product to any true fly fisher, and the nice thing is if you are not happy, Orvis will always refund your money. What have you got to lose??
Strengths: My buddy finally purchased his first spool of tippet material, after seeing me catch 3 to 1 while fishing with him. You have me sold on this product, and I have seen it out fish others, when they were not biting.
Weaknesses: You may pay more, but you always get what you pay for.
Customer Service: not needed
