Fluoroflex tippet material is made from 100% PVDF(polyvinylidenfluoride). This is not a nylon. Fluorocarbon has a refractory index closer to that of water. This means that fish have a very hard time s...

Price Paid:  $0.00

Body of Water:
Caribbean

Summary:
The standard Flouroflex is the ticket for salt water applications - largely because of its density and abraision resistance. The plus is too hard and causes breakage with strong fish and shock loads.

Reviewed by: James ,  50+ days a year

Price Paid:  $14.00 at Jax

Body of Water:
2nd Meadow of Slough Creek

Summary:
By far, fluoroflex is the best tippet material out there, especially the Plus version. If you're a good fisherman, you probably don't need it, and if you're a bad fisherman, it really won't help, but you will notice positive marginal differences in shallow, clear water (Green and San Juan). Once you go fluorocarbon, you do have a tough time going back to other tippets.

Strengths:
fish don't seem to see it, somewhat stronger than regular tippets, can steer fish around in fast currents

Weaknesses:
price is way high- need some more competitors to come out with their versions to drop market prices. again, not necessary to catch fish

Summary:
Yes, i'd have to concur with other reviews
of this material by saying that it is indeed worth the money. if you've had issues with mono or refusal, buy this stuff, it will help a great deal.

Strengths:
abrasion resistance, resistance to aging rot etc.

Weaknesses:
none

Price Paid:  $8.00 at Sportsmen Warehouse

Body of Water:
Weber andGreen River

Favorite State:
Utah

Favorite Country:
USA

Summary:
I use this product for all of my finicky fishing, where the water is clear and the fish are picky and spooked by other lines. It is great to be able to use a line size bigger, to help quickly land a fish for release with out horseing him around and exhausting them. Especially in winter when they are more vulnerable. Great product. Definitly worth using.....

Strengths:
fished in clear water, it is unbeatable!

Weaknesses:
None

Reviewed by: Anonymous User ,  40 days a year , from Houston, TX

Price Paid:  $9.00 at The Peak Fly Shop

Body of Water:
Taylor River

Summary:
I like this tippet and will use it for all applications. It certainly costs more than other tippets but the fact that you can use a stronger size translates into more successful landings.

Strengths:
In situations where you are fishing to selective fish this tippet material is practically miraculous. In most cases you can use the next largest size (5X instead of 6X) and not spook the pool.

Weaknesses:
The only weakness I can describe is that this material is not universally available. Consequently, I now carry two of each size with me just to be safe.

Customer Service:
never Had to Use it
