at sport show Body of Water: West Coast Florida Favorite City: Sanibel Favorite State: Florida Favorite Country: USA Summary: Awesome,I have an 8/9 system 2 , I have caught bones, small tarpon, cudas, 20+pound Atlantic salmon, 16 pound King fish and thousands of snook, without one glitch. The reel keeps going strong and is tuff as hell, the drag is like new after 8 years. I do take good care of my reel. Strengths: Strong durable construction(full cage), nice beefy handle, strong caliper drag stays consistent during blistering runs from heavy bodied fish. Weaknesses: I have busted off a few bones when using light tippet, the drag is not the smoothest at the onset. But I am not a very good bone fishermen either. Customer Service: Very good I hear, I haven't needed them after 8 years of hard use! Similar Products Used: ross, finnor, hardy, teton,

, from Bloomfield, NJ UAS Summary: I own three System2's, a 4/5L, 8/9 and a 10/11. They've been dropped on rocks, dumped in the surf, left outside in rain storms, rarely cleaned (even waiting a few days after a trip to the ocean to rinse them off) and they still perform well. They can handle the abuse of an owner like myself without being baby'd. The bigger ones still can handle blues, strippers and the odd bonito or two. I've owned Abel and Loop reels and can honestly tell you that the differences are marginal and certainly don't justify the astronomical prices of some reels. If someone wants to make the argument about machined or dye cast construction (which the SA 2's are) as being better, aluminum is aluminum. SA reels may not be the prettiest, but thet get the job done. Strengths: Inexpensive, if there is such a thing in fly fishing, durable, cheap extra spools, reliable Weaknesses: As they get older, the spools tend to have a little wooble in them. Customer Service: Never needed any Similar Products Used: None

Price Paid:
$140.00 Summary: Overall a sturdy, straight forward design with generous line capacity. Good value for handling saltwater fish short of the really big boys. Consider it one of my best buys. Strengths: Model 8/9. Best points are: Tough finish to handle fresh and saltwater. Nos sign of any corrosion after 7 years with just a hose down after saltwater trips, which often includes immersion when wading! Disc drag has good range of settings - has easily handled trout, kahawai and rat kingfish so far. Good backing capacity (about 250yd of 20lb behind a WF8 intermediate). Not too heavy - balance is acceptable on a #7 9ft graphite rod.
Weaknesses: On some high speed runs there is a bit of wobble, indicating the spool balance is not perfect. Sometimes the spool release is a bit fiddly, wont work first time. Customer Service: none required. Similar Products Used: ABU Flymax,Ryobi 444,Leeda Rimfly,Plfueger Medalist

at Propp's Rod Shop Body of Water: St. Joe River, Favorite City: None Favorite State: Idaho Favorite Country: USA Summary: I've had the 6/7 for 5 years now and fished 100+ days a year with it. I've caught 8inch cutthroats in Idaho and up to 12 pound steelhead on the olympic pennensula and this reel is still going strong. I love the low start up inertia on the drag which has saved many a snapped tippet from bigger rainbows and steelhead running on me. When it finally does wear out I'll buy another one Strengths: cork disc drag, durable, light weight, inexpensive Weaknesses: none Similar Products Used: ross, teton
