Reviewed by: Mike Edwards ,  40 days a year

Summary:
I would rate this reel a No 4/5 rather than the stated No6. Although build quality and pedigree are unquestionable, the caged design, and the tension knob gap would lead me to recommend the bar-stock Orvis CFO instead.

Strengths:
Very lightweight,good build quality.

Weaknesses:
Over genourous stated backing capacities with 20Ib Dacron and DT line.Tension knob liable to admit grit underneath. Full cage design restricts speed of changing spools until all line wound back in.
Came with draw-string bag only.

Customer Service:
Returned reel to factory to have grit removed from tension knob, turnaround was 31/2weeks.When reel came back there was unsightly glue residue around knob.

Strengths:
Nice anodized finish
High quality manufacturing
Lightness of reel

Weaknesses:
Small spool diameter (though better than Ross SM1)
Drag clicker noisy
