Reviewed by: Frank Gonzales ,  20 days a year , from Anchorage, AK

Price Paid:  $120.00

Body of Water:
Russian River

Favorite City:
Cooper Landing

Favorite State:
Alaska

Summary:
The best I've used. I've tried to replace mine with the Orvis Battenkill Large Arbor and found the latter to be a piece of junk (weenie drag). Sold it and got another FlyLogic. Excellent drag system, very easy to operate, balances very well with my St Croix 8wt.

Strengths:
Very easy to operate. Drag controls easy to access very responsive. Rugged.

Weaknesses:
I've never used it in salt water, so I don't know how it might respond in those conditions.

Customer Service:
Never used.

Similar Products Used:
STH cartridge (very good reel for the price). Orvis Battenkill Large Arbor. Cortland low-end beginner's reel (my first fly reel -- another excellent reel for the price).

Summary:
Do not use this reel in salt water.

Strengths:
Cheap. Drag works great. This reel holds a lot of line

Weaknesses:
This is not a good salt water reel. The paint on these reels corodes soon after the reel is used in salt water. The company should be more honest about the limitations of this product.

Reviewed by: Scott Kirkpatrick ,  50+ days a year , from Burnaby, BC, Canada

Body of Water:
Rivers

Favorite State:
BC

Favorite Country:
Canada

Summary:
If you are looking for a fly reel with the basic functions and ability to apply to a variety of situations, this fly reel is for you. I will definately purchase another one when I get into a lighter trout fly rod later on (a 3 or 4 weight system). They stand behind their product! I do too!

Strengths:
Corrosian resistant, can be used in Salt water.
Interchanageable spools. Disc Drag is easily adjustable.
FL Premium series 567 Price is perfect considering it has all the features
I ask for in a fly reel.
Balances well with my Sage RPL+ 6100-3 (6 weight, 10'0, 3 piece). Life time Warranty!

Weaknesses:
None so far.

Customer Service:
EXCELLENT. I dropped the reel by accident on the first day out after purchasing in the day before. It hit the cement hard, and I wouldn't expect any reel to last that drop. Unfortunately it landed in the wrong place and it bent the outer casing so that the spool wouldn't work properly. I contacted Fly Logic regarding it, and all I had to pay were the shipping costs, and they fixed it
for free in a fair time frame.
