The Galvan 3.0 and 2.75 reels that I own offer the best performance possible for a reasonable price. The reels are beautifully crafted, sturdy as anything, and do everything you would want. They're marvelous. Strengths:

I have the #3, for 5 & 6 weight line and have landed 10-12 20-inch fish on this reel and could take in line as smoothly as if there was not a fish on. Incredible quality and performance for twice the price. Strengths:

This is a very high quality reel, especially for the price. Very smooth and has a great feel. I like the quiet retrieve and drag. I have caught some large trout with it and have been quite pleased. So far the push button release spool has worked flawlessly. Will definitely purchase another Galvan in the future. Strengths:
This reel has a silky smooth drag that handles 4+ lb trout with no problems. Quick and easy to change out the spools. Finish is fine for a reel in this price range. Weaknesses:
