at tacklebox Body of Water: lakes and streams Favorite City: kuala lumpur Favorite State: w.p Favorite Country: malaysia Summary: ross evolution,i think is one of the smoothest reel i've ever own,it has most powerful, and a very smooth drag system yet very light.again thanks to the large arbor technology you can minimize line twist and curl and most of all the best after sales customer support you ever needed.no doubt it is abit costly, but it is worth what you have spent. Strengths: smoothness of the reel doesnt involved any ball bearings in it,thanks to the copper bushing, and u dont even need to lubricate it,sounds pratical. Weaknesses: none so far Customer Service: seriously no complaint about it,so far i think it is the best Similar Products Used: lamson ula force, lamson litespeed, okuma large arbor, shimano ultegrafly.etc

Great finish, great sizes (I own two #1's and a #0), great value. Strengths: Form and function. Weaknesses: None. Customer Service: Never had to have them fix anything, but they're always eager to answer questions. Similar Products Used: Abel, Teton, Ryall.

$0.00 Summary: I have a Ross Colorado, CO3. The reel is very well machined, light weight, and has a smooth click prawl. If you're looking to get into a reel with solid performance at an affordable price, this is it. Strengths: A smooth retrieve and durability in heavy cover. Weaknesses: Sometimes there's an overrun when stripping out line from the reel. Customer Service: I haven't had the need to contact them. Similar Products Used: Climax Epic, 5wt.

at Ross Pro-form Body of Water: Streams & Lakes Favorite State: Idaho and Oregon Summary: A pretty, light and well machined that doesn't work as intended. I am about ready to get rid of mine. Strengths: Nicely machined, good looking, strong, light frame & spools. Weaknesses: The worst click pawl system ever. I don't know why Ross chose to reinvent the wheel on this click pawl system, but they really dropped the ball. I have three Gunnison reels and based on my complete satisfaction with them I bought a CO1 and two extra spools for my 3 and 4 wt. rods. If the reel stays dry few problems occur except an occasional overrun. If the reel is submerged the reel will quite often go into complete free spool because the pawl jumps the puny little spring that holds it in place.
Customer Service: It is my understanding that the Colorado's pawl system is a design flaw and can't be repaired. Similar Products Used: Orvis, Ross Gunnison, Hardy, Scientific Angler
