Price Paid:  $20.00 at Sports Authority

Body of Water:
West Branch Reservior

Favorite City:
Carmel

Favorite State:
NY

Favorite Country:
USA

Summary:
This is a very inexpensive durable fly reel which does for me all it needs to: hold line, and backing, provide some drag, and a palming surface for extra pressure if it is needed. I have owned and used it for a year and a half and it has never let me down in any way. Bass up to 20" have been landed w/ this reel, as well as trout and panfish. I have it teamed with a G loomis 9' 5 wt rod on most outings, though sometimes, when my old Pflueger (so old it was still manufactured in the USA) stays home the Concept finds itself on vintage bamboo. Reminds me a lot of the Pflueger, simple and gets the job done.

Strengths:
Inexpensive price, dependable performance, dark non-reflective finish, Palming rim, plenty of drying holes. Few moving parts, less chance of things going wrong or wearing out. And i beleive it is made in the USA, i usually try to purchase products produced here.

Weaknesses:
Potentially the reel seat being attached to the reel at only one point w/o a screw. I would feel more comfortable with 2 screws

Customer Service:
I have never had to deal with them, the reel has perfomed flawlessly.

Summary:
Excellent reel and outfit for beginners. Extremely low price. Can't beat the value in this reel and rod combo. I fished 1-2x a week all summer and fall with this rod and reel and it has held up very well. Great performance for my experience level.

Strengths:
Great reel for a beginner (me). This came with a 9' 6wt. matched outfit from SA. Great instructions and good quality gear. Have caught many fish on this reel and setup: trout, smallmouth, and panfish.

Weaknesses:
I have experienced nothing that would deter me from recomending this reel to other beginners.

Customer Service:
None needed. I take very good care of my equipment and clean it regularly.

Summary:
Other than the line rubbing, I have use this reel twice and it works great for me.

Strengths:
This reel came on a package setup with a 9' rod and 6wt. line. Great beginner package and very affordable since I am a beginner.

Weaknesses:
Noticed when stripping line from the reel on my backcast, the line was rubbing on metal a piece on bottom of spool. I noticed on other reels that there is a roller. I'm wondering if this will weaken my line.

Strengths:
very affordable, all components ate well matched together, Great Beginner outfit
