, from Fort Collins,Colorado Body of Water: WATER Summary:
Billy Pate reels are the "classic" saltwater fly reel! Although they make a "Bonefish" model, I think the narrower "Salmon" model is as good as you can get in a light saltwater reel. It holds 200 yards of backing with a WF 8wt. If you've lost a bonefish because you needed more than 200 yards of backing, send me an e-mail & lets talk. IF YOU NEED A LIGHT SALTWATER REEL AND DON'T NEED A LARGE ARBOR, BUY THIS REEL! Strengths: Super durable, smooth, awesome drag - totaly the same quality as "Seamasters" w/o the "dual mode". Weaknesses: It's somewhat heavy, but its an extremely "burly" reel. If you want to change spools while your in the field, bring a small white towl with you to place the parts on - not a two second task. Customer Service: Have not had to use Similar Products Used: Tibor, Loop, Abel, Seamaster

, from Alaska Body of Water: not telling Favorite State: Alaska Summary: I'm tough on gear. And this is one reel that has not let me down while delivering superior drag control. And the AR model save on knuckle problems clients often develop while playing a 40 pound King. Strengths: Can handle large fish in all types of conditions, and can take abuse. Weaknesses: A bit heavy. Customer Service: Just a little oil after a few big fish. Similar Products Used: Tibor, Sage, Ross, SA, Loop, Ari Hart, Fenwick, Fin Nor, Abel Martin, Loomis - a bunch more.
