Summary:
I have been very impressed with my Snowpeak 1400(ti) cook set after using it on two trips in the Superstition Wilderness this winter. Besides its light weight, the design is great. It is big enough to take care of all my cooking needs, it has no after taste that is associated with some other light weight materials and cleans easily. I added a Snowpeak titanium 600 mug and their titanium spork to complete my kit.

It took me a while to upgrade to titanium. My first Ti venture was a MSR Titan Kettle which I love but needed something bigger for longer trips during the winter. The Snowpeak 1400 fit the bill perfectly.

Price Paid:  $50.00 at Northern Mountain

Summary:
What a great cookset! Is very light while much less expensive than comparable models (MSR). Just don't heat without having a good amount of food or water in it. I managed to warp the bottom of the pot by doing this. Overall, this is a wonderful buy and I would recommend it to anyone.

Price Paid:  $48.00 at Adventure 16

Summary:
I was looking for a simple two-piece titanium cookset and the Snow Peak 1400 hit the bullseye. This is a very basic set comprised of a 35 oz pot and a 16 oz frying pan/cover. It's really all you'll need for one person, yet still large enough to work for two in a pinch. It doesn't have non-stick, but who really cares? Just watch your cooking. The finish is average, but it's very cleanly designed and solidly built. Should last a long time. Best of all, it costs under $50!

The Details: It's light (7 oz), has built-in handles, room for my Snow Peak Giga Power stove (regular version - titanium wasn't worth the extra $40), Small Giga Power fuel canister (good for about an hour of "wide-open" cooking), MSR titanium mug, lexan utensils, Bic lighter, Primus canister stand and a sponge and dry cloth. All that and it still weighs less than 1 pound with the included mesh storage sack!

This backpacker doesn't need anything more, but if I did, the 1400 is designed to swallow up a 900 set (smaller version of the 1400) and a SCS-004 set (large mug and small pot) as well the small fuel canister. All that in a very tidy package that easily fits into your pack. Snow Peak makes great gear. Awesome!
