at REI Summary: Hands down the best car camping tent that I have ever seen or used. There is plenty of room for 2-3 adults as well as a fabulous screen room off of the front to get out of the rain or away from the bugs.
In regards to others complaints, I have no problem setting this tent up alone or getting the fly taught. I must have got a good one...
Bottom line: I have plenty of other tents for other situations but this is the one that I reach for when I am not backpacking.

at altrec.com Summary: Well, it has been a long saga but after first sending in the whole tent to MSR and receiving a lame explanation and a replacement fly which did not even belong to the particular year model I had, I finaly received a replacement tent that lives up to the tautness depicted in marketing glossies. Used it last weekend and am very pleased with it. I do not particularly care that I ended up spending almost $30 in shipping.
The tent works very well and looks good as well.
SOme of us deserve what we get as in face of my experience with Armadillo product, I decided to buy their Altiplano with manufacturing quality control problems. Fodder for another review! Customer Service: If you have time to burn, try getting hold of MSR's customer service. I am quite sure they have one lady working there. Once you get hold of the lone customer service person, she is very courteaous and helpful. Takes them for ever to get things done. Similar Products Used: None

at GlobalMart Summary: This is a very good 3 or 4 person tent that can stay dry! Used it in NC mountains during a 5 day non-stop down pour and the sleeping quarters were bone dry with no condensation. The rain fly covers about 40% of the screened in porch floor area. We kept our gear on the porch but rain drops tend to hit the no-see-um and turn into millions of tiny water droplets that come in at a 45 degree angle. Although our gear was not directly in the rain it did get fairly wet. With some garbage bags the porch is usable as a good place to store LOTS of gear. Walrus says you can erect this tent with one person but my wife and I are 0 for 3 in our attempts. Once you get the poles (very strong) attached to the tent base the rest is a piece of cake. The center hangers are a bit tricky to attach without stepping on and stretching the tent a bit. The zippers worked flawlessly and overall the fit and finish of this tent is first rate. Unlike the previous reviewer our rain-fly fit very well and kept the tent very dry. A queen and twin air mattress pretty much fill up the sleeping quarters. 3 twin mattreses are a bit tight and press on the outside of the tent body. Congrats to Walrus on providing a storage bag that is big enough to hold everything without having to pack the tent with factory precesion. The best thing about this tent is you can put it up and forget it - it does its job very well. Similar Products Used: Hillary, Coleman, Eureka

at altrec.com Summary: The sleeping quarters are fabulous. The fly is ill fitting. Cannot get it taut resulting in some leakage. Carried it into the Grand Canyon figuring the weight was just about same as two backpacking tents (Walrus Hurricane hole) that I have. Worked out great even though it is a tight fit for four adults. These ratings are based on the assumption that the ill fitting fly is a design problem with no fix. Customer Service: Called customer service regarding the fly that is "too big." Was asked to send the tent in which I did. Will take three weeks to get it back. Will post again if the fly gets fixed. Similar Products Used: Coleman junk Eureka garbage
