Price Paid:  $475.00 at Bibler tents

Summary:
I have had my GLT since 1994. I called Todd Bibler and we talked about what kind of backpacking I did..
I am a solo backpacker.
I wanted a lite weight tent also. So both of us decided the GLT would be the perfect tent back then. I really like the tent it easy to set up and stand up the rigors desert backpacking. My only problem, I wish I would have purchased it in the yellow or sand color instead of green,.The tent heats up really fast because of the color. I have used this tent for along time on my many backpacking trips Even a week long car camp ground trip at edison lake. The only thing I worried about was someone stealing my expensive tent at the camp ground.
The reason it was so expensive it was made by fine american craftsman back then. Instead of the cheap slave labor tents we get now.
I gave the Value raying a 5 because the tent is price less they don't make anymore. The only similar is the three pole bivy.

Customer Service:
Great service back then you even were able to talk to the tent designer back then.

Price Paid:  $250.00 at Friend

Summary:
Though the tent is small, and not the easiest to get in and out of, this is a great tent. It's fully seam taped, and has plenty of room inside to store your gear. Not easy for broad shouldered people to get in the small triangular door, but i've shared the tent with 6' plus partners and been alright. The lower vent at the foot of the tent helps control condensation and temps very well. You only need 3 stake out points to set the tent up. The whole package is only 3.5 pounds, too! So if you're shooting for 4 season worthiness in a small, packable single wall, this is a great tent-definitely more for 'sleeping' than 'camping' in!

None needed.

Reviewed by: Russ G ,  Backpacker , from Round Rock, TX, USA

Summary:
Before I start complaining, I must say this tent has never leaked. However, several things I don't like. First there is a seam down the middle of the floor, length-wise. This makes me nervous. Stitching, especially around the pole sleeves is poor and is pulling out. Pole ends are not capped and fill with mud. Way too many zipper pulls - 12 total. When the door opens it lies on the ground where you step on it, which tears the screen and wears the material. Absolutely no extras included, which for this price is crazy. I had to buy tent stakes, pole repair sleeve, seam sealer, guide lines, guide line tighteners. Definately not for 2 people unless you are very friendly. Wouldn't buy another product from them. Way too expensive for the features.

Customer Service:
Customer Service was surprised when I called about the complaints about missing pieces and refused to admit that the floor seams were an issue. Very much a 'you don't know what you're talking about' attitude, though they did stress they would repair any failures. They didn't get the concept of the design was prone to failures and I might not live to get back to complain after it did fail.

Summary:
The color for the wilderness is a bit bright. The price for this two person tent is about $150.00 over priced. This price would be OK if it was insulated and 1.6 lbs. lighter.
