at Charmonix, France Summary: I bought these boots in the French Alps after my husband surprised me with an adventure involving high Alpine climbing/trekking (when I was expecting only Tuscany, great dining etc.)
I'm not sure if the Lady GTX boots are available in the States. If not, it's a pity. Although hardly inexpensive, I find these boots to be heads and tails beyond any other mid-weight hiking boots I've ever used. They're worth every penny. Fit is outstanding--I've never had so much as a blister after day-long technical hiking. Build quality is unsurpassed. If you've never seen a pair of Lowas it would be difficult to describe how much better they are than anything else on the market, quality and fit-wise.
Suffice it to say that hikes which left my feet hurting and exhausted in other boots barely affected me when wearing these Lowas. They're that good. I LOVE them!
I've put maybe 300 hard trail miles in the Lowas. They look seasoned and broken in, rather than broken down. They have the appearence of boots that will last near forever, but I haven't had them long enough to know for sure. Customer Service: No experience with this. Similar Products Used: Vasque, Trezeta, Asolo, Solomon, San Marco, Army boots.
