Summary:
K2 Phat Luv
160 length
90mm underfoot

I love this ski. Been using it now 3 out of 4 ski days over about 35 ski days: powder, Sierra cement, groomers, spring slush. Really floats on top. Quick turning -- good for chutes, moguls, avoiding disaster. Yet holds a dynamic, cruising high speed turn. Can handle hard, icy conditions but not the most relaxing ride-- chatters on hard, high speed run outs. The lightweight, stable design is fun...not getting as tired as on my Volkel AX3's (170's). Sometimes I revert to old style skiing, getting my feet too close together, and I trip over the wide shovels. A problem I am happy to live with! I'm 52, expert level, 145#, 5'2' I cannot recommend this ski highly enough.

My 16 year old daughter ( 5'4' 120# expert level all mountain and freestyle mogul skier) is on the same 160 size (yes, we are a 2 Phat Luv family). She says: great for powder and cut up / heavy snow. In moguls, the wide design catches due to mogul technique, doesn't hold in tightly formed and spaced moduls i.e. competitive mogul course, Doesn't feel they are as stable on high speed groomers, flats. FYI her other ski is a bit shorter, narrower and lighter (Volkel Vertigo).

We are guessing the weight difference between us is the difference. Mom is used to longer, heavier skis...daughter used to shorter, lighter ones. We come from two ends of the ski design spectrum to agree: THIS IS THE SKI FOR POWDER & SLUSH DAYS! Pair it with another ski for icy conditions, and you will be a happy camper
