These shoes are terrific. My first pair of ""hikers"" were Nike ACG sneakers and there is no comparison. The support, traction and grip are top notch. I wear them all the time because they are so comfortable.

My comment is not with the Salomon Exit II Low in specific, but with the general quality of the boot, and the integrity of the company in general. For last summer’s hiking season I purchased a pair of Exit II Low. They were very comfortable, but to my disappointment, the back of the heal wore out quickly, rendering the boot unwearable. Since I am quite hard on my boots, by the end of the season they looked like hell. I knew that because of their condition I was unlikely to receive a credit on warranty. To my surprise within 3 days of Salomon receiving my boot, priority courier rushed a brand new pair of Salomon Exit II Low 2000’s to me!

Customer Service

After experiencing the company’s return/repair policy first hand, I would never have any hesitation to purchasing another Salomon product. The customer service dept. was friendly, speedy, and sent me new shoes with no questions asked.

One of the best things about these shoes is the great traction. One of my first trips with these boots put me on hard packed, wet muddy trails. I had fantastic traction.

Since then I've learned that they are comfortable no matter how long I have to wear them. For low shows I get plenty of support.

They breathe very well so they make a good three season hiking shoe. Because of the ventilation, they are definitely not cold weather or wet weather shoes.

(Someone else said they dry quickly and I'd believe it!)

I'll buy another pair when these wear out.

Vasque Skywalkers

I have the women's style of these boots and am reviewing them here since I couldn't get into the women's boot link. I love them. They felt like running shoes from the first time out, yet they have good support and great traction. I doubt I'll ever buy anything else as far as light hikers go. I might get the waterproof ones next time - my socks got wet pretty quickly when I hiked in the rain, but I have no other complaints.

These shoes are the best I've ever worn. They fit like a glove and feel great from the first time you wear them. When they wear out I will get another pair for sure. I love them and I will always buy salomon.

Love these boots for my day hikes, climbing 14ers. Great fit and traction--as mentioned by another reviewer though, they could be more waterproof.

I actually have the original exit lows, and they are great, I have had them for 2 years and they are holding up just fine. I just replaced the laces. These shoes took a while to break in but after that , they are great.
