I was very impressed with the initial comfort of these boots, and it has only increased as they have broken in. Probably the best thing about these boots is that you don't notice them. On the trail they are very light and breathe well even without hiking socks (though I wouldn't dream of going very far without them). They have held up well to a few seasons of heavy use, and show no signs of premature wear. A great pair of boots. I bought these for daily use. Cause I don't like to wear out my better boots hiking through the woods near home, or NYC where I work. Initially I loved them, saddle shoes have always been a favorite design, look. But then I took the first step, and whoa....what IS THAT...the formed sole cuts up so much at the toe, that I felt like I was three again....The foot literally rolls into the next step like a shoe made for walking....I wouldn't suggest the AP trail or anything in them, and they aren't high enough to walk in snow without gators....but they're good for getting around, and I bought them for nearly nothing, since the reseller was having a tough time getting people to buy them due to the SADDLE SHOE DESIGN... I bought two pair. Customer Service I hated my solomon bindings. Still use their poles. Customer service was no help with the binding issues. Similar Products Used: These are better than Vasque Sundowners, and lots less $$$$ to buy. |

I have purchased these boots fairly rencently and have found them very comfortable, great on uneven terrain also great for running away from angry billy goats! Additional waterproofing is definately necessary. Overall a great boot. |

Good build quality, comfortable fit, firm sole (necessary for rough terrain), looks decent too. Not recommended for very intense hikes like climbs to 5200m in Peru/Bolivia or long distance hikes over very rough trails (over 50 Km) since the stitching inside the boot happens to fall on particularly vulnerable parts of the feet (heel and lateral sub-maleolar bursae). Exquisite pain and blisters that are felt only after 20 to 30 Km. |
