These boots are very comfortable and extremely water proof. these are the third pair that i have had and vasque has greatly improved the waterproofing and gore-tex lining over the years. My son is in Boy Scouts, and he has the same kind, we've both been to philmont scout ranch (a two week hike in new mexico over very rugged mountains) these boots have survived this and a week's hike in the White Mountains in New Hampshire.I would recomned these boots to anyone. THe SkyWalk outsole, I find better for rocky terrain then Vibram outsoles. My son and I both have the fabric/leather version, and I likethem better than the all leather version becuase they are very flexible and have minimal brake in time. EXCELLENT BOOTS!!!!! I bought them on sale at REI, but i would buy them at full price.

Customer Service

The first pair of Clarion's that i had fell apart, I returned them to Vasque(might i add vasque has great costomer service) they had no problem with it. I was pretty foolish to by a second pair exactly the same, but i thought i take my chances since the first pair were so increadibly comfortable. I DO NOT REGRET BUYING THE SAME BOOTS A SECOND TIME!!!!!!

Very comfortable and light. They can handle pretty much anything you throw at them. Rock, dirt, etc... I would definately recommend them. I'm pretty much just a day hiker .. not an extremeist.

Comfortable boot for light backbacking and easy trail use.Traction is good for easy conditions, to fair on tougher trails. Doesn't hold up to a heavy pack. Gortex is as good as can be expected so long as you dont expect miracles. Have had my pair for 3 yrs. Initial wear was fast, but they held up not bad in the long run.

I love these boots...very comfortable, yet supportive. I recently wore them up Mt. St, Helens (still snow covered) and was quite surprised how well they did. I experienced some slippage where the 'stairsteps' weren't as well formed, but that's no surprise...I think I was well outside of their intended use. My feet were soaking wet, but I had no gaitors on, either...very warm day, very wet snow. Dry feet and good traction would have been miracles. They fit my feet very well and are quite comfortable.

Customer Service

Years ago, I had to return a pair of non Gore-Tex Clarions due to some stitching coming loose...they got lost in the mail (or, somewhere), but were still replaced with no questions asked.

Since there was no listing for these in the women's boots section, I guess I will review them here. I bought a pair of women's clarion gtx and I LOVE them. I have problems fitting shoes on my feet because my metatarsal is wide, but my heel is narrow, so when I get things on my feet that don't cut off circulation to my toes, usually my heel slips around unbelieveably. The face that you can switch out insoles in these helped. This is the first pair of footwear that I have ever bought that didn't give me blisters immediately. The boots are comfortable, allow my feet to breathe so they're not too hot but they're still good in the wet.

I had the boots for about 3 months before the started to deteriorate. The leather started to wear and now my shoes look like they are 2 years old in about a 5 month period. I'm very dissatisfied in how they hold up. I've had Vasque boots before than the were a lot better than this one. I hope the Gortex leaks before the year is up so I can get new ones.

My pair did not hold up well at all. They showed tremendous wear (e.g., cuts through the leather uppers)after only several hikes, and were in worse shape than my old pair of boots(different brand)that had had years of use over rougher terrain.

Customer Service

I had bought them at EMS, who allowed me to trade them in for a pair of Asolo's that I have been very happy with.

I like these boots a great deal. The break in period was short and relatively painless. They breathe well and fit my average width feet very nice.

These boots have been good for me. I have a medium with foot and these boots have been realy comfortable for my weight(155) and a 50lb pack. I wear them everywear. I'm a AT trail maintainer and use my boots a lot. They are very waterproof and mine show medium wear within 2 years. This is the second pair I have owned. I recomoned them to any light weight backpacker who goes out for weekend trips to week long in medium terrian. My boots broke right in within a few weeks.

Customer Service

The last pair of Clarions I had owned for about a year and the rubber toe guard was begining to peel of the front. I sent them back to vasque and they sent me a new pair of boots in the new style.

Day Hiker

If you can get these boots for around $50 dollars you'll be ok. They are not rigid enough to do any backpacking, but should make a decent day hiking boot if the terrain is not rocky.

Customer Service

The gortex lining ruptured and began to leak in one of the boots. I was under the impression that the gortex was guarenteed never to leak. Boy was I fooled. When I attempted to return the boots for repair or replacement I basically got a "hell no we want replace them" attitude from the mall-type high-priced retailer. From now on I buy from REI where the customers come first. I now wear REI Spirit and Mtn Trekker boots both made by Raichle. They are the best...
