These boots are one of the better buys I have made. They broken in nicely over various types of trails without any blistering. I did develop one hotspot on my heel, though I wasn't wearing my normal socks. We were caught in a storm which dumped 4 inches of snow in the Sierra over Labor Day weekend. The boots kept my feet warm and dry even trudging though the slush. These are great boots and I'd recomend them to anyone.

Customer Service

Haven't dealt with Vasque but REI is wonderful.

I have had my Clarion GTX's for a couple of months now. I have done some hiking in New England, especially a very nice trail up Mt. Mansfield in Vermont. Probably the most comfortable boots I have ever owned. Stiffness is good, support is good and haven't had and problems with water seepage. I did some very wet weather hiking this past weekend at Silent Lake, just north of Peterborough, Ontario and the boots came through fine. But like several other of you I have some problems with the soles. They aren't nearly as sticky as the pair of Ones-Sports I have been using for the past few years. I found myself slipping over wet rocks, something that was never a problem before. On the other hand, the One-Sports didn't have as much support and weren't as durable as I think these will be. I am just going to have to be more careful about wet weather hikes.

The uppers are durable and the replaceable insoles are great for maintenance and fine tuning but I have been very puzzled by the combination of goretex lined boots that have a sole that is very slippery on wet rocks and roots. This is the second pair of Clarions I have owned, the first pair I had the soles ground off by a shoe repair shop and replaced with a Vibram sole which had much more grip. I had hoped that the newer Clarions would have taken care of this but it looks like a trip to the shoe repair shop is in order again.

The best medium/heavy duty hiking boot I've owned. The fit is super comfortable and the boot is light weight as well. I spent 15 days in Denali with rain every day and dry feet!

Nice boots. I have the 1/2 leather 1/2 mesh style because my feet sweat a lot and I needed something that would breath. These boots worked well and need very little break in time. My feet stay dry because they can breath and the have the gortex booty on the inside. I am finding the sole is wearing out quicker that I expected. Nothing to crazy. I would purchase these boots again.

Good boots. Good price. Hell, good every thing. I have had many vasque boots, and will continue to have vasque boots. The clarion GTX are some of the best boots vasque has ever made. I hiked trhhe Ural Mountains in them and they were very comfortable. nOt on eblister, not one bruise. not one twisted ankle. My freinds ere all complaining about sore, tired, wet, and cold feet. I was not complaining at all, except for cold feet. I think vasque could make a verision of the cLarion GTX with insulation. Don;t use these for cold weather hiking. BUt medium backpacking? yes. LIght day hiking? yes. Weekend hiking ?yes.I have had many heap day hikers over the years, and I do not think i will ever go back to them after i have had "real", if you will, back packing boots.

These boots were very comfortable. I don't understand the bad reviews. I've had mine for two years now, and they are as water proof and together as if they were new. I hiked the German Alps with these and I had very good luck with these boots. never slipped, never leaked, never gav eme blisters , i wish there was A higher number than five stars, I would give these about ten.

These boots are very comfortable and extremely water proof. these are the third pair that i have had and vasque has greatly improved the waterproofing and gore-tex lining over the years. My son is in Boy Scouts, and he has the same kind, we've both been to philmont scout ranch (a two week hike in new mexico over very rugged mountains) these boots have survived this and a week's hike in the White Mountains in New Hampshire.I would recomned these boots to anyone. THe SkyWalk outsole, I find better for rocky terrain then Vibram outsoles. My son and I both have the fabric/leather version, and I likethem better than the all leather version becuase they are very flexible and have minimal brake in time. EXCELLENT BOOTS!!!!! I bought them on sale at REI, but i would buy them at full price.

Customer Service

The first pair of Clarion's that i had fell apart, I returned them to Vasque(might i add vasque has great costomer service) they had no problem with it. I was pretty foolish to by a second pair exactly the same, but i thought i take my chances since the first pair were so increadibly comfortable. I DO NOT REGRET BUYING THE SAME BOOTS A SECOND TIME!!!!!!
