I've had my sundowners for about five years and they have performed without a flaw. I've used them for everything from backpacking in treacherous terrain to day hiking in local parks and they have been more than enough. As far as durability and reliability, I have no complaints. If I ever wear them out, I'll certainly go with another pair of Vasque's as a replacement. Similar Products Used: None |

I've had my Sundowners 2 years, and like them overall. They're sturdy and comfortable, and have never let my feet get wet. The boots are warm due to the Gore-Tex liners; great in snow but if I did a lot of hot weather hiking I'd choose another boot. Mine squeek annoyingly sometimes from the tongue/collar area, and they're well over 3 lbs, but overall a very good boot. Similar Products Used: None |

I've had my Sundowner for five years or so. They've hiked, hunted, fished and moutain biked in ... oh ... 15 or so states. I've had no complaints. After the intial break-in period, they became very comfortable. They seem fairly stiff, but not overly so. I can think of no complaints. They've kept my feet dry in Florida; warm during a harsh Kansas winter; protected while hiking in Texas; ... and every other place I've been they've never let me down. And they've held up well; the soles especially have lasted longer than I thought they would. Overall, a great mid-weight boot. Similar Products Used: None |

I recently purchased a pair of Vasque Sundowner boots with the nubuck exterior. These boots are incredible. The break-in time was less than a month and they have formed themselves to my feet already (again, less than one month). What really makes me happy about these boots is the stout construction and the "feel" of them being a serious backpacking boot. My previous boots were the really heavy and stout Danner Backpacking Boot (pre-Mountain Light ll's) these older Danner boots were really more of an Eiger boot than anything else. Anyway, having come from such a boot with a huge Norwegian welt, I aways thought the Sundowner boots looked wimpy. That's not the case. It remains to be seen how these boots will feel five years down the road, though. I normally carry about 40 lbs in my pack, and these boots seem to handle that load very well. One thing I don't know - whether or not these boots will take a lightweight crampon. I'll have to look into that. I bought these boots for $165.00 at a sale at Red Wing Shoes, although REI had them about $20 cheaper in their recent spring sale. For that price I think these boots are one heck of a deal. I would highly recommend them. Customer Service No experience with Vasque. Similar Products Used: Danner backpacking boots, Rocky Stalkers. |

Good boots. Comfortable. I would definitely recommend them if asked. My only complaint is that the soles seem to show wear easily. There are several trails which are composed of rock, granite, etc., and these boats werent made for these types of trails (ie; Inca trail, Peru). But this is probably a limitation of all boots. They just aren't made to wear on concrete/rock. Customer Service Once I had the sole unglue from the upper. Boots were replaced within two weeks, no questions asked. Good service. These boots are very good. I bought a Pair about a year ago. I have hiked part of the appalachian trail, and these boots are still in tact and very comfortable. I like Vasque boots anyway but this was one of the best pair. The only problem is they take a bit longer than most boots to brake in and they do not have a vibram sole. My advise would be probably to where them around the yard for about a week and then hike with them. Similar Products Used: None |

The last pair of boots I will ever own. They are the most durable boots I've ever seen. I've waded through 4" of water and not gotten my feet wet. One of the most important features for me has been the fact that Vasque has the VFS system, as I have very long and narrow feet. Stiff at first, but broke in well, and feel very sturdy. The most supportive boot I've ever tried. Similar Products Used: None |

These boots are indestructable! Thru jagged lava beds, snowshoeing, mountain climbing, they have always held together. The only problem that i've encountered is with the Vibram sole. It doesn't maintain traction in wet conditions. Similar Products Used: None |

I just bought my 2nd pair of Sundowners. The 1st pair I wore for 5 years almost every day in the winter, and on day hikes and backpacking trips in the summer. By the end of 5 years of abuse, the stiching on the heel started to come undone and cracks began to form at the toe base. All in all, I can't imagine another boot outmatching the Sundowner for my type of wear. |

Good looking boot. I have flat feet, so I have to be particular about my shoes. The shoes have been great on my feet. Took a couple of days of break in. |
