My husband and I both bought Sundowners at EMS in '97 for $160 (on sale) and subsequently went around the world in them. We had happy feet the entire way. We hiked in Africa and Asia and for 28 days straight around the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal. We didn't suffer from blisters or wet feet. (Ever!) Break in time was minimal. Since this is my first pair of serious boots but we really have no complaints at all. Great product and great company. Customer Service We sent one pair back for repair of the inside ankle collar that had begun to split apart. Vasque determined that it wasn't economical to fix the boot so they gave us a $200 credit! I have had my vasques for 5 plus years now. They are quite comfortable and farely durable. The soles have held up really well. The only noticeable wear is on the inside around my achilles heal. Just recently the goretex has worn off. All in all a decent boot, but I expected them to last a little longer. I am not too sure if I would get them again, but they did fit my narrow foot really well. Similar Products Used: None |

Picked up these boots from REI's monthly clearance room for only $26 (used 1-3X...mismark?!). I'd say I got my money's worth. I've worn these Vasques for about 3 years now as a day-to-day hiker (don't hike as I spend way too much time on my mtn bike)., and they've held up incredibly well. What can I say? They're stylish, comfortable (once broken in) and durable. I love the stability of the sole too. Anyways, I figure if they can hold up to my brother's daily landscape maint. work, they ought to be just fine for my casual, light use. However, the full retail price of these hikers seems too high. Had mine for about 2 years now. Paid about $160 like the folks in the post below. I use Super Feet insoles with mine. Minimal break-in period, very good backpacking trail boot. Waterproofness is excellent, although I also treat mine with Nikwax. The laces are user friendly and I don't have problems tightening my boots down. No problems with slipping, and very good ankle support. I also like that it's all leather. Don't skimp on boots, get the best fit and quality you can afford! Similar Products Used: None |

A good all around hiking boot for the money - as long as you get it on sale as I did. Doesn't rub my feet the wrong way and I've got flat soles. It's also warm enough for winter mountain bike rides. Similar Products Used: None |

This boots are the best. I have had the style that came before the sundowner for over 5 years. I have had them resoled. I now have the sundowners and thing the break in period is very short. they are very comfortable. I just wish the toes would last longer. Customer Service They can be resoled. This is the only way to go with hiking boots. A full grained leather boot that is lined with goretex which makes it virtually waterproof. They fit wonderfully and last for years, I have had mine resoled twice over the past 5-6 years and the leather is doing just fine. |

Best shoes on the market. LIGHT, flexible, warm, athletic, waterproof, comfortable, leather, and break-in time? NONE. Slip them on and go. For day hikes, walking around town on cold February day, across deserts in Namibia at 95 degrees (that's right, deserts! sand! hot! and leather!), or for 2 week treks in Adirondacks. Only drawback I've noticed is the bottom sole comes apart a bit, the glue doesn't seem as strong as it should, but then again I've sent them back to Vasque and they repaired them under lifetime warrenty, with, you guessed it, a little glue. Customer Service Excellent. Similar Products Used: I have used these for 10 years thusfar, and still shop for others (Raichle, EMS, North Face, Fabiano, Zamberlain, Merrell) but still convinced that my next pair will be a pair of Sundowners again. Who else makes a lightweight, LEATHER, Gore-tex boot that feels like a shoe? |

I've had these boots for over 4 years and the only thing I can say about them is that I've had to replace the laces-- they are the best boots for the money that i have seen. hight quality, durable and definitlely a must for anybody who puts at least 100 miles a year on boots. I could not have asked for a better boot. |
