I never had a Blister in 5 years. Great fit for medium volume foot. That is all the good news. My boots seperated from the sole right behind the toes after a couple of hundred miles. I had them reglued but that only lasted for another couple hundred miles or so. I am in the market for new boots now since these boots have seperated almost the around and have become totaly non-waterproof. They also had poor traction, I busted my tail way too many times. I won't buy another pair.

My size 13 narrow feet really limit the boots I can choose from. However, I am on my second pair of Super Hikers and I recommend them highly. This new design with the extra padded tongue makes them comfortable right out of the box. I used my first pair for backpacking over the Rockies for two months and they were great. Had they not been stolen, I would probably still be wearing them. I am off to transverse Switzerland with my new pair in a month and I feel completely confident in their ability to support me over the Alps.

Wishing for beefier leather, I also tried the Wilderness by Merrell. I really didn't like them at all. In fact, I have considered the Wilderness a few times because I had a pair 16 years ago during an Outward Bound trip and I liked them back then. Now, however, they just seem too low, stiff, and generally uncomfortable.
If your unlucky enough to have clown feet like me, special order a pair of Super Hikers!

I've had these boots for 4 years and love them. I'm currently on my second resole and the boots get better with each hike. I use the boots for extended backpacking trips with very heavy loads on some extremely rough and rocky trails, peak scrambles ,and even strap on Grivel G-10 crampons when necessary to traverse consolidated snow fields in the high country. If you need a resole, contact www.rmresole.com. I've had coblers resole my shoes/boots for over 20 years and Rocky Mountain Resole doe the best work by a long shot.

Never had to call them.

I bought a pair of the Vasque Skywalker boots in 1988 and got good use from them. In 1998 the plastic eyelets had become brittle and started to break off the boots. I took them to a Vasque dealer and they sent them back to the company. Vasque gave me a full credit for the boot, which I use on the Super hiker. I used them for one season and love these boots.

Customer Service

They are great they stand by there products. Full credit for a pair of 10 year old boots.

I Rented a pair of these boots when I took my NOLS course this summer because all I have is a pair of midweight boots from vasque. I loved the boots, and wish I had bought them when I had the chance. We hiked well over a hundred miles on the course, and I had no blisters and saw virtually no wear by the end of the course.

I bought my frist pair of Vasque boots in 1969after five resoles they are still in good shape. Eight years ago I decided to purchase a new boots . Vasque of course was the frist ones I looked at. I have worn my Super Hikers from N.C. to Montana from wet snow to powder,Ieven did a WI-3 ice climb in them (I dont recomend this). I have nothing but praise for these boots.

These are the most comfortable boots I have seen bar none. After about a week long break in period they are the only boots I want to wear anywhere. They are the most comfortable pair of footwear I own and I have quite a selection including some built for everyday comfort(Doc's), These put them to shame. A little expensive for wear around town but for backpacking they can't be beat, or I've yet to see their equal anyway. After a coat of nikwax they are completely waterproof. Great buy, better if you can find them on sale.

I have the Vasque Sojourn GTX, which is the same as the Superhiker, except that it has a gortex stormstock. Overall, I am very pleased with these boots. Be sure to fit them carefully to the socks and footbed you plan to use. I use the Thorlo Trekker socks with Superfeet footbed (blue capsule). My normal street size is 8 Medium width. I purchased the boots in size 8 and 1/2 wide. With this combination, I am very satisfied with the fit. Virtually no break-in period is required. I have just finished using them over 35 miles on the AT in Georgia over 4 days in a variety of weather. Performance is excellent, with no blisters.

I just bought the Super Hikers for half off (205 to 105) since they are coming out with a new model. I wore them hiking three days in a row starting with the day after I bought them and they were great - no blisters and broke in rather easily.
