My husband tells me I spend more time snuggling up to my Couloir than I do with him. This is such a silky, light bag you will never want to emerge from it. It's the only bag that keeps my feet warm without suffocating the rest of me. I had to return the Pinnacle because my feet were too cold. I even unzip it and sleep in it at home.

Customer Service

Excellent. They've sent me washing instructions and allowed me to exchange my Pinnacle for the Couloir.

I've used this bag in a variety of conditions (Yellowstone/Tetons in spring, up and down the WA/OR coast, St. Helens, Rainier) and I have *always* been too hot! :) I consistently end up in my boxers and fumbling with the zipper to let more air in, this bag is a monster. Extremely comfortable, I love the extra room and padding they give to the head area, perfect for stuffing a pillow into. The sturdy zipper never bites into the nylon, preventing that extra wear and tear of zipper tracks - a big pet peeve of mine. Super roomy around the feet. This bag has a high list price, but you generally get what you pay for... I got lucky on eBay (low price, good seller, extremely low usage), but this bag is worth every penny of the full price. If you have that many pennies, of course. Snap it up if you see a deal on it. It will be a sad day when I retire this bag. In fact, I think I will go give it a hug right now. Excuse me.

Customer Service

Hasn't been needed, but judging from the other reviews I haven't got much to worry about.

Superior sleeping bag! I have been backpacking for thirty years now and I have not had this comfortable of a bag with the exception of sieria designs sand man.The colure is rated down to zero I have not been in weather that cold yet but I stayed very warm in the winter when I used it in north carolina this year. The best thing about this bag is the face muff, no other bag that I have used offers the same comfort as marmont around the face. All other bags I have used when not putting my face in the bag dug into my skin. The colure is a down bag that is suposed to hold up to years of torture un like my sandman made of polorgard 3D which lost its loft after one year. Still a great bag I just use mine a lot more than most people nine nights a month. Cons are it is still a bit tight for this broad sholdered man chest 46ins but very comfortable, a great winter bag

I bought the colure with my dividen check and cupon from REI and got a great deal. used it for the last three months and I love this bag. A bit tight on the inside for this 250 lb man but is very warm. I have never had a bag with such a comfortable hood around my face. 20 degrees is the coldest I have had it in and it worked great.

I purchased the Marmot Couloir w/ Dryloft in May 2001 after a particularly traumatizing snow camping experience in the High Sierras with another "0-degree" bag. Since then, I''ve used it on Mt. Shasta and on Mt. Rainier under adverse weather conditions. My climbing partners were dawned with thermals, fleece, and wool caps, while I had to strip all my outer layers off (though there was plenty of room to keep them on) and remained quite toasty in just my base layer. I have not yet had a chance to test the DryLoft feature, but until I do I am glad to have it for emotional purposes. I worry less when a little snow gets into the tent. I purchased my bag in Berkeley and called ahead before making the 2 hour drive to reserve the DL bag and get a quote priced (they were having a sale). When I got there he had held the wrong bag (without DL) and there were no others left for my size so I got the Dryloft ordered at no-DL price. Pretty spendy, even with the sale price, but it''s worth it considering it could make or break a trip.

Made a mistake in the price in the previous 2 reviews. The Price I paid was $299, not 240, and definitely not 140.

Jast an added thought. My bag, size regular, weighed 3.4 lbs with stuff sack. I weighed another Colouir to see if mine was unique, same weight. I was dissapointed because the advertized weight is 3.0 lbs

The size I got was a regular. The bag is extremely wide. I have used it twice in snow. Once in a bivy sack (I was very warm) and the 2nd time in a tent (had frost problems). It may be too wide for me, but it is nice to be able to wear your parka easily in the bag. I do not have the dryloft version, but the water repelent treatment seems to work, do not know for how long. If I were to do it over I would get the dryloft version.

Customer Service

Got the bag from rei.com on sale. Came in the mail with out the stuff sack, had the storage bag, REI mailed me an OR stuff sack for free.

I didnt like the bag because it was too warm in there. I think it may have something to do with the fact that i wet my pants that night though. Otherwise it was fantastic.
