Awsome Bag! I do alot of camping in the Adirondacks, as guide for groups. So I needed a bag that would keep me warm and be small enough for me to carry. I can actually get this back packed down to a ball about 8" in diameter. As for its temp rating, I have yet to sleep in it at -18 but i have no doubt that it will keep me nice and warm. The one draw back is the zipper, my bag is a 2004 model and it still has the anoying zipper that jams. It doesn't snag it just seems to jam on itself. This however i have gotten used to and compared to all the other awsome feature on this bag the Zipper problems just don't matter.

Customer Service

When I got the bag the Draw cords for the hood weren't sewn in properly. TNF repaired it without any questions. Treat them with respect and they'll do the same. TNF takes alot of crap from people trying to get their old beet-up gear replaced for free.

I've used this bag with a bivi sack in a Bibbler tent from the Cassin Ridge in -65 F. and at the summit of Rainier in Feb during a rescue job. It is an excellent choice for compressability, warmth, and weight. Keep it dry and you cannot go wrong.

The NorthFace is the best.

I actually have the superlight endurance. I will stand by the quality and value of this bag till the end of time. I jammed into countless bags and for the temp rating, features, looks and quality, I feel this was the best. I have had it 11k up on Rainier in my skivies and had one of the best nights sleep. Compacts tiny yet is a roomy bag(good wide shoulders). Kudos TNF. This bag will stay with me as long as the down lasts.

This is a nice bag. I was using TNF Thunderhead for winter camping and needed to get some more warmth. Down is so comfortable. This bag is very light and compresses smaller than my summer bag. It lofts very fast and the loft is huge!! My only gripe that I wish it had a better water-resistant shell. It doesn''t bead condensation very well, but also doesn''t let it through to the down. The big footbox is nice, big enough to stuff some clothes to dry at night. Overall, an excellent bag at a good price.

Customer Service

Haven''t had any experience but heard its good. Bad thing-I heard TNF is owned by Vanity Fair!! Sellouts. No wonder their shells suck.

replaced my old sierra design down bag. Very warm, snug, and packs small. Zipper a bit hard to get all the way up from inside. Draft collar does let some air in when hood not snugged all the way up. overall, a good bag for most conditions...but keep it dry

Purchased this bag as a winter alternative to my 20 degree SD Wild Bill. The bag weighs a scant 8oz more than the wild bill, not bad for 20 more degrees of warm, and packs a good deal smaller. Benefits of down I suppose. I feel the temperature is accurate as I have been rather comfortable in the low single digits. The DWR and pertex shell have some of the best water-resistance I''ve seen short of outright coated fabrics. Any condensation that melts and drips back down on the bag is always neatly beaded on the surface. The rating for temp is dead on, has just enought squirm room without having excess dead air space, all in a package under three pounds, very nice!

I've used the Superlight in a tent at -5 degrees and in a bivy sack (and a lean-to) in the teens. It's VERY cozy. But most everyone says that about THEIR bag.

Pros - packs small - easily fits in the sleeping bag compartment of my Dana Glacier pack; is relatively light; has a reasonably accurate temperature rating (I have to strip down to long johns when the temperature is in teens or be too hot); lofts quickly; superb hood - I cannot wear a hat in this bag as I get too warm (and I'm well past the point where Rogaine might help); good upper draft collar (there is no collar on the bottom). Reasonably priced.

Cons - the zipper snags; TNF uses beefier fabric to prevent that problem, but I guess I'm just in too big of a hurry to seal out the icy blasts. I've also encountered difficulty getting the zipper all the way up when attempted from inside the bag (don't know why - the zipper works just fine... must be me.) Fabric isn't water proof (TNF doesn't say or imply that it IS - just pointing this out); encountered some dampness when the bag has been used in a bivy (dried out within 2 hours when the bag was unstuffed at home, so it wasn't THAT big of a problem). Had trouble getting a good air entry/face hole that didn't prevent excess cold air entry when sleeping on side (but was okay when sleeping on back); could be all the junk I have in the bag with me -- water bottles, boot liners, gloves, snacks, etc., but I haven't been able to get the bag to roll with me when sleeping on my side (I turn inside the bag) - that means a cold air hole over the side of the face -- or ear, and moisture exhaled into the bag.

Overall? I'm very happy. This was my first down bag and I'd buy it again. I'm giving it a 4 star for value because, IMO, its **reasonably** priced, rather than **inexpensive.** The 5 star for overall represents my satisfaction that the product performs "as advertised."

Older REI Lite-loft. It was a nice bag -- at first. But it lost its loft in a couple of years. LiteLoft = LessLoft; that's more an issue with LiteLoft than with REI.

This bag is approximately 2 years old. And while it's been used on only 2 occasions in the local mountains, I feel very confident in its' ability to keep me warm well into the single digits/0* range. While I used it, it was getting into the low to mid teens. Very, very warm and comfortable. Ed.

I purchased this tent late last year and just used it a few weekends ago in northeast IA when tempatures dropped below 20F at night. I stayed plenty warm, this is a great light weight bag, easy to pack and I like its relatively small size when stuffed. I have other TNF gear and have had nothing but good experiences with it. If your looking for a great light weight down bag the NF super light is a great buy for the $$.

Customer Service

I have had no experiences with customer service.
