Very reliable and easy to use stove. No priming and it simmers well. It does seem to eat the fuel a little faster than other stoves I have used, though. Nonetheless, it has subplanted my Whisperlights as my primary backpacking stove.

I have never used a better stove than this one. It simmers, boils water in a hurry and works in every condition with no priming.

I used the Apex this summer on a week-long backpack trip. I also own an MSR stove, but decided to take the Apex for the following reasons. The Apex lights quickly and has great heat control. While the MSR is lighter and less bulky, I prefer to carry the Apex and not worry about burning food or having to relight the stove at lower (simmer) settings.

The Stove is great. It is light weight, and packable. The stove fits in a quart pot and the fuel bottle fits into any side pocket. The option of white gas, unleaded gasoline or kerosine is a big plus. The only draw back I see is that there are a few moving parts and where there are moving parts there is a potential for problems. But Coleman includes a repair kit with their stove and a 5 year warranty. I love this stove and it is worth every cent and ounce!

I like the stove a lot in principle but it is not durable. I'd say if you do a lot of overnighters then you are better off with this then a Whisperlite but for serious backpacking this stove is not durable enough and it is not field maintainable. It can simmer though and I like that for in the warmer weather when I feel like playing chef in the backcountry. If you want to simmer go with this stove, if you want durability and heat go with the whisperlite

This is an excellent stove for ease of use and versitility. The adjustable flame is great for saving fuel while keeping food warm. I have had no trouble lighting the stove in the high country and the adjustable legs help to setup anywhere. I would buy this stove again as well as recommend it to friends..

I actually have the original Peak 1 Apex MultifueI stove. I have mostly used it on biking tours and have been very happy with it. It simmers well, boils quickly and the divided windscreen on the burner keeps it lit in windy conditions. The priming pump is not difficult to use. It has been very reliable and durable.

Adjustibilty is this stove's best feature- a big selling point in my book. The key lets you turn the flame from simmer to full blast and anywhere in between. Mine has had no maintenance or durability problems over the course of 6 trips of 3-4 days in length; I assume it will continue to hold up well. Its not particularly light or compact, however.

I have used this stove on several trips ranging from 100 mile treks to snow camping and it has always worked well. I really like the adjustiblity of it. It is not especially light or small but it holds up well.
