This tent was a brithday gift at age ten and it has lasted me since then which is 14 years. Keeps the rain away from the sleepers and vents pretty well. For an inexpensive tent, this model is first choice and I have also acquired a two door four person with double vestibules and that combo has enough room for five or six people.

Customer Service

Eureka will stand behind the product and fix the tents they make at a reasonable price. Good service.

I have used a lot of other tents that perform well, but Timberlines are easy to set up without pole sleeves and the space between the inner and rainfly is great for heavy rain and ventilation.

I have used the Timberline 2 for about 8 years now with BSA Troops. They are the best all around tent for scouts. Durable enought to handle the rigors of scouting, affordable, and not extrememely heavy for 2-3 scouts. These have been proven to be very reliable in downpours and in heavy wind. The key: set them up properly or you have ruined its features.

When you are the only troop that is dry out of 20, you must be doing something right.

This is a heavy-duty version of the Timbeline. It is heavy for backpacking (about 10 lbs. w fly and vestabule), but it is a great tent in every way. I've been to use it in all 4 seasons and it has always kept me dry. I'm going to keep this tent, but I think I'll try a Timberlite too.

I have had my timberline tent for 4 years now. It has treated me well. The only problem I have had was a chord in one of the poles, but that is not a big deal. I bought mine used from an outfitter who was getting some new timberlines. I figuered if they are good enough to hold up to renter, I'm sure they will be fine for me.

I'll echo all the other people as well. This was my first tent eight years ago, or so, and I just got a new one this year. Not because the Timberline was falling apart, I was just tired of carrying it for myself! Occasional Leakage, some bent poles, but over 8 years, there have been remarkably few problems. An excellent beginner's tent. Fairly cramped for a person of my stature, one man tent for my size (6'3"").

This tent seems to be so highly rated by everyone but I don't quite comprehend why. I think it is an okay tent for the money, but nothing more. Actually, this tent would be quite a decent buy, if it wasn't for one major flaw that it has (or at least the version that I bought in 1999): The rainfly is a tad bid too short on both sides, leaving the bottom 5 inches or so of the sides of the tent exposed to the elements. And if you are not superhumanly tiny your sleeping bag is bound to come in contact with these wet spots sometime during the night. . . Why did Eureka try to save those few pennies on material? Also, another warning: the floor isn't completely waterproof either and your sleeping bag may sponge up water if you don't use a full size pad (which I did contrary to my girlfriend.-)

Customer Service

Eureka's customer service: I had mixed experiences with it. . . I once dealt with a resentative of theirs who was the most impatient person I had ever encountered. After he couldn't answer one of my questions (I inquired about footprints for the tent) he got very insulting and hung up. Nothing like this has ever happened to me before. Another time service was more friendly, but that was under their line for business customers.-)

I've had this tent for about 15 years. I've been through 2 flys and 2 door zippers and countless stakes. I've been in violent thunder storms and come out dry. Some water has gotten in through the floor, but it drys quickly due to the fact that the tent is free standing, you just flip it over in the sun and wait 20 minutes. It goes up with ease, vents well and I like the green that blends with the surroundings. I feel it's a tad heavy, but then a lighter tent would cost more.

Customer Service

Customers services has been helpful and repairs have been done well and cost was very reasonalbe.

I have a Kelty,[unsure of model], that is light weight, about 4lbs total, that I use for back packing.

I have had this tent for the past 4 years and after countless uses it's still holding up very nicely. I had to replace the fly about a year ago , but apart form that I haven't got any major complaints. It might not be the best tent for a hardcore camper but for the rest of us, its perfect.

I like this tent a lot. It may not be the best tent out there, but it is easy to set up, and it keeps out the weather pretty well.

I bought this as my first tent to backpack into the Eagle Cap wilderness area. It was a joy to use and comfortable to sleep in. It is a tent I will always keep. No need to spend 4 times the price.
