I bought this tent used. I was not sure about it but I got home and set it up. That night I took it to a State Park. After about 2 miles in the sky opened up with rain just as I barely had enough time to get the rainfly on it. I spent all that night in a nast downpour and the tent held up. Not a single drop of water got in. I am more than happy with this tent. I also recently purchased the REI Taj 3, 3 person tent used on the internet and it is absolutely bomb proof. Even better that the North Face tent I got new and returned the day after I got the Taj 3. The best thing I like about the REI Clipper and Taj 3 is the RipStop material it is made from. Extremely durable without compromising weight. I would recomend anyone who comes accross the Clipper used, get it.

Customer Service

REI is the best I have ever delat with and extremely knowledgeable employees. I even go there for the free classes they offer.

I personally didnt like this tent .It lacks the qualitys of a great tent. The main problem to me was the space, it didnt have the room for me and my friend. I would suggest the Kelty WindFoil Ultralight instead.

Customer Service

I have needed new poles and tent stakes.

A great tent, especially considering I only paid 50 bucks for it (with the footprint) at an REI yard sale.

Customer Service

Some people think REI means Return Everything Immediately...therefore they sell their returns extremely cheap to guys like me who are in the right place at the right time.

This tent is entirely worth the money I paid for it. ($165) If you can pick it up for around $125 do not pass it up. This is my go-to tent. It balances lightweight materials with a durability and strength that is unmatched among any other tents in the price range, TNF, MARMOT, MSR, EUREKA and MOUNTAIN HARDWARE. I thru-hiked the Muir trail last year and this is the tent I chose. I never regreted it. This sucker held up in rain, wind and cold. You name it, the Clipper handled it. This tent has lasted through so much of the elements. I was also on Isle Royale National Park, and this tent shed water like you would not believe. We were held up for over 2 days in a heavy rain during a mid summer Lake Superior T-storm. Nothing was wet. You can easily fit two full size men in this tent. If you are a couple, this tent will feel huge. Nice plus is the attention to detail (gear loft, extra snaps and covers, handy zipper pulls, screen star viewing window etc)

Customer Service

REI is outstanding. I only buy from places who stand behind their products and offer a good return policy.

After using this tent for about 2 years now, I can say that it has worked great for me. It is very lightweight, especially when you divide it among 2 people. It has stood up to rain very well every time. Clip design makes it an easy 5 minute set up, plus being freestanding you can move it around if there are any bumps in the ground. Good ventilation also, never had moisture in the tent in the morning.

Very good, lightweight (around five pounds), freestanding tent. Roomy for one, a tight squeeze for two. Nice amenities (gear loft, two pockets either side of the door), easy to set up (takes only a minute or two). The vestibule is pretty small, can fit a couple pairs of boots plus a little gear, or one pair boots and a small pack. It is very stable in the wind, good circulation with little condensation inside. Did experience either a little soakthrough or perhaps just some water sneaking in at the peak of the tent/rainfly in a heavy rainstorm in Yosemite last fall. But, that one day's storm refilled dry creekbeds and turned the trails there into ankle deep streamlets, so a few drops into the tent might be expected. I did value the ability to break down the tent under cover of the fly using the footprint that day, and found out that it is possible to cook in the vestibule. At $169, it's a fair bargain. At the $99 I saw recently, this tent is an out and out steal.

Customer Service

REI is the best.

I recently bought this tent on sale WOW $99.99 Went into REI like I usually do just to buy a footprint for another tent I own and walked out a happy camper after purchasing the Clipper. What a steal. I feel bad for those that paid upwards of $169.00 plus for this tent. I took it on an overnighter and no problems. The tent is lightweight and is roomy enough for two but since I am a bigger guy I will use this tent for my solo trips unless of course my wife comes along. Two great pockets on each side as well as a gear loft that comes with. Awesome tent for the mony $99 and even better one man tent that gives you the room. Vestibule is yes a little small but my pack and shoes fit perfectly. I think you will enjoy this tent. After all compared to the Sierra Designs clip flashlight it is so better cuase of the price. Rei patterns there tents after Seirra designs anyways so asking me it is just a generic without the name Sierra Designs tent. ENJOY

This is a tent that was thought thru before it was ever sown up. Attention to detail and the ability to just use the footprint(a $20 option) and the rainfly as a minimalist shelter by attatching the fly to the poles with velcro tabs sown to the rainfly. Im 6'3" tall and 225 lbs and this is the best 1 man tent I could hope for. Plenty of pockets and mine came with a gearloft which easily unhooks to allow sit up reading, ect. Great ventilation, a surprisingly clear window, under 5 pounds, and an easy pitch solid 3 pole design make this a keeper for me. It rained the first time I used it and no leaks. The only way I could be happier with it is if I had waited 2 months and got it on sale for $119.
