Great little tent - I worked in Yosemite for many seasons and these tents were what the USGS supplied us with. Awesome and light, especially useful when you are carrying many extra pounds of sampling equipment. The tents we used had already seen many years of use and were holding up beautifully. As a 3 man tent, nice and squeezy ... as a 2-man tent, great for 2 and packs inside. Planty of headroom at the entrance. Ventilation could be better, considering the all around mesh. Very lightweight and packs down small. Great tent for lugging around the globe. Now, if only they had a built in maid ... Customer Service Had a racoon eat through the side and into my pack. Rang Sierra Designs who referred me to a fixer upperer in the area. Repaired it for me on the spot. I'd call this good customer service. They knew who was in the area and where they were at. Great for individual looking for an extremely lightweight, compact (when folded), and quickly assembled tent. Best for solo packer and gear due to small size. Have used as three season tent (spring through fall) and worked great. No winter experience with this tent. As with other Sierra Designs products that I have tried, the quality is top notch. This is an excellent light tent that can withstand some nasty stormy weather (think tropical storm wind and downpours). I bought mine in 1992 and it is still in great shape. Have taken this tent on countless hikes and even drug it across 4 bike rides across Georgia. It has held up considerably well and has kept me warm, cool and dry when I needed to be. Looking back on the price it has been an excellent buy. I did find it to be a little cramped for two people, which was easily resolved by telling my friend to go buy his own. I have 3 man version of this tent. Roomy enough for 2 with gear or a tight 3 without gear. Still plenty light but the extra space is worth the weight and cost. Not free standing but this is not a big problem on the east coast and Pacific NW where I have used it the most. I have used it mainly on bike trips. No problems with water.
