I would not reccomend this harness to many climbers. If you go out much and are abusive on gear like my self this is not for you. On one canyoneering course I was on, the back strap that keeps your butt positioned tore all the way through on one butt slide. I give one star for its price though.

Best harness I've owned in 25 years of climbing. I wouldn't use it on a wall (for that get the Yates!) but for all other applications from alpine to trad (I don't do 'sport') it works very well. Mine came with gear loops which I had to tie on myself, but they are fine. If you don't hang alot its the ticket!

Great beginners harness! Light, small, cheap, and simple. Great adjustment from the glaciers to the gym. When used for long belays and extended periods, the lack of padding becomes painfully (literally) obvious.

An awesome little harness, great for quick abseiing decents and short climbs, I have stepped up to a newer model BD harness but the alpine bod has been kept for friends who want to give climbing a go. (it's a little bit uncomfortable)

A great harness when you want to travel alpine style. It's nothing but the necessities for a harness and is ideal for quick peak ascents. A great harness for beginners as well.

I used this for mountaineering, rock, ice and it's been great. The put on your own gear loops suck (mine ripped off in a squeeze and lost some biners). Basic and pretty comfy for no padding. I've had it 1.5 years and it's the only harness I own, time for a better one now since I climb alot.

Great Buy!!! 30$ for my first harness, that was great. I have used it extensively for glacier travel, gym climbing, ice climbing, rock climbing. I will now only use it for ice climbing and glacier travel since I have a nice padded harness for long belays but this is the best choice you can make for a first harness.

Bought this harness when I started climbing several years ago, mainly because it was inexpensive. I used it for a full year at the crags before I bought a cushier, pricier sport harness. There's nothing flashy about the alpine bod, but it does the job. I still use it on alpine climbs and as a spare when I've got a friend who's just "always wanted to try climbing." I do think it would be nice if the harness came with gear loops.

I'm currently using the Black Diamond Wizard for sport climbing. I love it. It's super light weight and very comfortable. It's got a cool little gear loop in the back for racking your belay device and a couple of spare biners. Since it only has two gear loops, it probably won't be your best choice for trad climbing (depending on how you rack your gear), but for hard redpoints it rules.

For the money, an excellent harness. Not an experienced climber, but I enjoy mixing it up a little. Comfortable and easy to use sling for gear.
