The North Face Mens Denali Jacet Fleece Tops

The North Face Mens Denali Jacet Fleece Tops

DESCRIPTION

The mother of all fleece jackets, this is a TNF staple. A super warm layering piece for cold weather expeditions. It's also a great looking piece for around town on chilly fall days, or cool summer nights in the mountains. With its abrasion-resistant reinforcements, this jacket is also an excellent dry-weather ski or hiking outer layer.

I cannot express enough dissapointment. The zipper broke within the first month, and the threads in the cuff detail on both sleeves came loose in the second month. This product is filled with static electricity and attracts lint and hair requiring constant maintenance. It looks terrible all of the time! The static has caused my ipod to shock me through my headphones x 2!

Customer Service

Poor customer service. You have to mail the jacket the their repair shop at your own expense, and if the needed repairs aren't covered by their warranty, you have to pay for the repairs. The process takes up to 3 weeks.
I wrote a review including photos of the holes in my sleeves, but they never posted it on their site. I'm not surprised!

Alright so I got this jacket on sale for 77 bucks! And I am in love. I can even wear this and only a t-shirt when in 10-20 degree weather. The most warm fleece/jacket I've owned.

Let's face it. The one and only reason why you'd buy this jacket is because of it's popularity. It's just a fleece jacket. Nothing more. Buy a cheaper brand and don't worry about what the frat boys are wearing.

I don't even wear mine anymore since it's basically useless.

the Denali jacket was something i had been wanting to purchase, partially because of its popularity. when i bought it and put it on, it was soooo comfy and the fleece really does feel so good against your skin. i don't really have a lot of complaints about the jacket, although i will say that it does let in some drafts on cold days, so a sweater is needed when it goes below say 45 degrees. otherwise, a great jacket!

Excellant jacket! I could not believe some of these reviewers complaining about its lack of windstopping ability--such a function should play no part in the review score as it is not advertised nor inherent within the jackets material (I'm using the older 300wt fleece model and not the newer windpro fleece which is only wind resistant not windproof). The fact that this jacket is not windproof means that it breathes much better therefore making it excellant to wear while traversing the trails or any other such activity outside of climbing where open exposure to the wind will zap your strength. I usually don't care much for North Face equipment anymore--I'm fed up with their inconsistent sizing from year to year, and some of their equipment is quesionable as far as durability is concerned. But the Denali jacket is a wonderful heavy weight fleece jacket for winter excursions. Should it get windy--then don your parka. I love the styling, and the durability is exceptional.

Definately a good jacket for day hikes and around town stuff... warm as anything when layered under a windproof shell of some sort. Nice feature is that it zips into other TNF products like their mountain light parka. Bad side: if you are a weight concious hiker or backpaker, this isn't for you. After discovering a certain other company's windstopper fleece, this thing will see more closet time than trail time, trust me. Still, for what it is, it is high quality.

I can't tell you how many different fleece coats I''ve had from different manufactures. I recently bought my first North Face Denali Jacket online at www.4beartooth.com for $129.00. This fleece is out of this world. I'm an avid backpacker / outdoor sporting enthusiest and really push my gear to its limits. The Denali took everything I threw at it. Very durable to the point of almost being indestructable. I love the underarm ventilation. You can go from feeling "as snug as a bug in a rug" to "where's that draft coming from" in two quick unzips. I also really appreciate the padding on the chest and elbows. When you are spending alot of time blowing on embers perched on your elbows, you soon realize what a plus this is. I hope this helps

Customer Service

Great fleece jacket. Nice and heavy for those winter backpacking trips. Best of all when it gets too hot the pit zips cool you down plenty. However, wearing this jacket over 60F is not recommended. I use this jacket quite often and have had no problems. It''''s strange, I often hear about the TNF going down, however; I have not had any problems with any of my gear. And I have been using TNF for several years. Good Luck!

Never had to use them.

I Bought the North Face Denali Jacket this winter for winter backpacking. I have used it while backpacking several times this winter and it has kept me warm and comfortable. I think the denali jacket is a fine jacket if you are backpacking in temperatures of less than fourty degrees and use it as a layer under the north face mountain lite jacket because it just zips right in. There are however in my opinion better choices as the denolli does not have a wind stopper layer and is a bit heavy for ounce counting backpackers like me. In march I will switch back to my two hundred weight LLBean fleese jacket to save weight. I have also bought a marmont precip jacket to use while backpacking and saved a lot of weight. Bottom line is the denali jacket along with the mountian light jacket are great products for mountaineers but a bit overkill for backpackers in lower elevations especially if you are trying to save a lot of weight or don''''t go backpacking in contunially freezing temperatures and is a bit pricey not to have a wind stopper layer.
