Mountain Hardwear Gore WindStopper Tech Jacket Fleece Tops

Mountain Hardwear Gore WindStopper Tech Jacket Fleece Tops

DESCRIPTION

Polyester reinforcements at the shoulders and neck resist pack-strap abrasion; along the arms they protect against the grind of rock and ice. Extra-long pit zips (backed by an inner flap) align with those in our shells for effective venting; the front zipper has a no-snag draft flap. Articulated elbows assure unrestricted freedom of movement. Two generous chest pockets and two zippered security pockets (one in, one out) provide convenient storage. Comfortable Power Stretch cuffs will not absorb moisture.

Everyone of the reviews here is right on! everyone loves this jacket and with good reason. Outerwear, I use it mostly for this, insulator, really warm and light under shell. I got caught in a wet snow storm in the Sierras this year for 5 hours in this jacket. At the end of the day the jacket weighed 30lbs from having absorbed water, but most importantly I WAS DRY AND WARM ON THE INSIDE!!! AWESOME. I have the Windstopper pants too and I like them alot, only complaint is the cuffs are too narrow to fit well around ski boots...I can make it work but 2more inches and there would be no problem. The vest is a must have. I have given the vest to all my buddies for presents the single most versitile piece in the world.

Customer Service

I have had the vest for 4 years, the first year the seam on the back came out and I sent it back. It was repaired flawlessly within 2 weeks.

This is, hands down, my favorite piece of outerwear! It is extremely versatile. It can be used as an insulator beneath a shell, or as an outer layer is all but a steady rain. It vents easily (two way zippers and pit-zips), and is very light weight. It is the most comfortable piece I have ever owned.

Customer Service

I once ripped the bottom zipper pull completely off. MH had it fixed and returned to me in 2 weeks! As a former gear shop employee, I can tell you that kind of response is terrific in comparison to other manufacturers.

This is the best fleece made. It can be used and abused four or five days a week as I have and will take it. My pack tore my North Face windstopper fleece during it's first season but the Hardware has lasted two allready. People I guide in the backcountry come equiped with some of the best products out there, yet they always seem to covet this Hardware piece by the time we leave the mountains.

This may be my favorite single piece of outerwear. It is comfortable as an outer layer down to below freezing in highly arobic activities. It breathes well and stops wind as advertised. I highly recommend this jacket.

A great jacket. Works well as a piece of outerwear, or as an insulator under your favorite Hardwear shell. Construction is much better that TNF's Sentinel, Soloist, and Pamir jkts (all which i own too) All in all Hardwear is a much better company if you want PERFORMANCE, NOT Fashion.

Customer Service

Have not yet, heard it is really good. TNF's on the other hand is not the best. You have to push them to get what u want. They don't seem to care about performance anymore, just about appealing to college students who walk around with Mtn Lgt's.

No seriously, if I could take one item with me when I die it would be the STOPPER. This thing is bomb-proof. My best climbing partner just got one and hasn't taken it off for a month. There isn't a better piece of equipment in all the land.

Customer Service

I also have the Hardware shell and love it. It's nice to have a company that just makes quality stuff, and isn't so damn trendy as The North Face!

Great fleece jacket. I have used it on numerous mountaineering climbs. I sheds the wind tremendously and layers extremely well. The pit zips allow for venting, plus the jacket breathes extremely well. Its construction is strong and handles abuse. It weight is fairly light and compresses fairly small for packing. The jacket is very versatile from day-hikes to backpacking to high-altitude mountaineering.
