I have very narrow feet and this is one of the few boots I've tried that fits great from the start. It's a very comfortable boot. The sole seems a bit high and sometimes feels unstable on granite or other flat surfaces.

Used these boots heavily for last six months including recent two week heavy duty backpack. Excellent quality. I replaced the Asolo insole with the Superfeet Hiking insole (highly recommended for all backpacking boots) as I've previously had arch support problems. Have had three small blisters in over 200 miles of wear. Only thing I've had to do for these boots is re-Nikwax.

These boots fit great right out of the box. I've worn them on everything from 3 hour day hikes to several day backpacking trips. Most of it on the AT in Eastern Pennsylvania, which I think would thoroughly test the fortitude of any good boot. All without any problems-no hotspots, blisters or soreness.

Mine don't have Gore-tex, so I periodically slather them with Sno-seal. Which pretty much destroys the Nu-buck finish, but the leather itself is fine. And I've had no problems with wet feet, unless it gets in from the top of the boot.

The only complaint I have is I'm going to have to replace the Vibram sole after only two years--a small price to pay for a great boot.

These boots are indeed the finest I have ever owned. I started backpacking more than 30 years ago and have gone through every style, type and torture device ever invented for a hikers feet. I used Merrells for a number of years but one pair gave up in most spectacular fashion 2 days into a 2 week trip. I've used the Asolo's in the toughest terrain New Mexico can throw at it and they are staying together well and treating my feet just fine. I am searching for another pair to purchase so I will always have a pair...they are that good.

These are the best boots I have ever owned. I owned a pair of Merell M2 SUperlights before these, and there is no comparison. The Asolos are comfortable, indestructable, and affordable. I wouldn't trade them for any other boot.

I use these as an approach shoe to hike with before I switch to my mountaineering boots and I love them. They are comfortable, durable, and keep water out pretty well. A good all round hiking boot.

These are by far the best boots I have ever owned. THey are affordable, comfortable, and so far indestructable. THey have survived cold, water, snow, slush, mud, dirt, rain and Boy Scout Camp. I have backpacked almost two hundred miles in these and they still feel brand new. I will warn you: they feel most comfortable on those hikers with narrow feet. If you have wide feet, check out the Merrell M2 Superlights.

I have hiked in Merrells, which I am not a huge fan of. The soles of the boots didn't have a beefy tread, and they got kind of flimsy very quickly.

In one word the shoe ROCKS!!! I was totally impressed with the comfort level of these boots. I just had this boots for two days now and put over 20 miles on them. And in no time, my boots conformed to my feet. I also change the insole and slapped on the Superfeet incerts. What a big difference. So, if your look for a good looking boot w/ acceptable performance and good price. ASOLO AFX 535 V is the way to go...I definitely will buy me another pair in the near future.

Worth every penny. I have had these boots for over a year now and have used them on a variety of trips. Me and my friend who also owns these shoes both loved their ability to endure heavy loads and the extreme durability despite the lack of a rubber toe guard. Very highly recommended.
