MSR WhisperLite Internationale 600 Stove Stoves

MSR WhisperLite Internationale 600 Stove Stoves

DESCRIPTION

Whether it's white gas, kerosene, jet fuel or automobile gasoline, the Whisperlite Internationaleâ„¢ takes it all and burns it easily. The secret is in the large diameter fuel line that lets you burn poor-quality fuel with less maintenance or cleaning than other so-called multi-fuel stoves. Like the Whisperlite Shaker Jet Stove, the Whisperlite Internationaleâ„¢ features a Shaker Jet needle, which automatically pushes out any excess fuel debris with a simple flick of the wrist.

Great for international backcountry adventures, backpacking, mountaineering, kayaking and camping

Windscreen, heat reflector, fuel pump and reusable stuff sack included 14 oz. (400 g.)

Great Stove had it for 6 years, used it everywhere. Burns great, easy to maintain. The only drawback is that it takes real attention to get a good simmer. I use a Gaz 270 Turbo for simmering so it works real well.

Customer Service

Broke the pump, mailed it to MSR got a new one NO PROBLEMS. I really like MSR Products

Have had one for almost 7 yrs. True, lke most of the reviews say it is ""FUN"" to prime. As long as you learn to prime it at the right time (i.e. not under your tents rain fly on a stormy day) it works great. When you get one take it out on the front porch of your house and boil your self a pot of coffee to learn the best priming method. For the rest of you who say it's better to use a ""peak 1"" consider this, Why in the hell would you put the fuel tank only inches away from the burner? A friend of mine had a ""peak 1"" blow up on him, needless to say he now usese MSR(Mountian Safty Research)

This stove has served me well so far. The fact that it has to be primed first is sometimes a pain, but the stove is light and stowes away easily. Cooks really well at altitude and in the cold. I agree with others in that, simmering is nonexistant, and you have to keep pumping the stove. A very good, purpose built unit.

This stove works quite well and is very light.. My only complaint is that you have to keep pumping it up every once in a while and it doesn't simmer real well.. Other than that it is extremely effective at what it does..

I've had mine for a few years and I have not had any major complaints. It's a little tippy and the priming can be just a little inconvenient, but it is the only pack stove I have ever owned and I am not looking to replace it with anything else.

This stove is _hot_! It can't simmer to save its life, but mostly what I do in the woods is boil water anyway. For longer trips I'll take along a flame spreader, which makes it possible to cook pancakes if you're careful. The stove is quiet, which makes it much more pleasant to be around, but harder to tell when it's gone out because of insufficient pumping or a gust of wind. However, it is pretty windproof (better than the dragonfly!). It's a little messy to put away, because priming often gets soot all over the windscreen. It's not as elegant a design as the dragonfly, and can be tippy with large pots, but I prefer it.

Customer Service

They answer questions quickly and knowledgably.

This stove was working great at first, new stoves rock. But after a two trips to the Utah desert, my stove clogged pretty bad. But on the upside, the cleaning kit worked well, as did all the tiny tools. My only gripe is with the reamer thing in the fuel line, I feel it could be a bit more functional, I think that was a place where a lot of the sand got into. When clean, the adjustability of the flame was tolerable, i don't think its much of an issue when cooking on the trail, I'm more into speed cooking than gourmat sauteeing. Oh yeah, its light and packs in MSR pots well too.

The weight factor is what pushed me to buy this stove. Just over 454 grams (that's 1 lb.). The variety of fuels this stove takes is great especially when travelling. Though I haven't had the chance to use regular gas. Kinda tricky to switch valves for each type of fuel. 8 oz worth of fuel is enough. Lugged around 22 oz for a three day weekend and only used 2 oz of it. I didn't do an heavy grillin', mostly just boiling.

Customer Service

No hickups so far. Though I'm planning to call them concerning about the efficiency of lighting this stove. It needs to be warmed up first before firing it up.

this thing is like a blow torch. burns hot! great for boiling water but i wouldn't plan on making anything were you need a little less heat then molten rock. but it has never let me down and given me a warm meal when i needed it.
