Bought it after using a friend's a couple times. Superlight and packable. Uses fuel miserly and sets up fast. Boils water in a flash, haven't tried to simmer with the stove, but it sure does boil well. Not a super expensive stove either. Similar Products Used: Peak 1 Coleman, heavy, but works... |

I've had this little stove for 13+ years. I have used it from sealevel (Everglades) to 13,000'. The stove has required no maintainance other than through cleanings and new O-rings, and is fairly quiet, and simmers fine with practice. Mine is a pre-shaker jet model, but the reliable preformance has given me no reason to upgrade. I am also still using my original (black and grey) plastic pump. MSR is a top company! Customer Service Outstanding; both knowledgable, and courteous |

Great stove. I just bought one after borrowing a friends. I haven't been disappointed yet. It gets hot so quickly and it is an incredible value. |

I've used the wisperlight for years, and it has always performed well. It has never had to be repaired, is light weight and provides great flame and heat in extreme conditions. The only thing that I don't like about it is you have to pre-heat it to light it and therefore it gets carbon build up which is dirty. Small problem for the usability and value of this stove. I have an ancient Wisperlite Internationale, but it still works great. Boils incredibly quickly, but has difficulty simmering. Requires periodic maintainance, but it is easy to maintain. Similar Products Used: None |

I bought my ""blowtorch"" about 4 years ago and it still works perfectly. almost no problem , except when i used kerosene on a mountain and it wouldn't evaporate to gas. Absolutely no problem since I changed to petrol. I love it coz it's cheap to run and i can service it by myself, no expensive shiping and service charges. Sure friends laughed as i primed my stove while they lighted their camping gaz. But now, I get to laugh back as the price of camping gaz cartridges has increased almost double.... (about $5.00 ) . petrol of the same amount would cost about 10 cents ....heheh heh heh ...plus I dont have to pack out bulky , noisy and empty gaz cartridges !!! Customer Service customer service was excellent, they even replied to my letter from malaysia. Thanks MSR Similar Products Used: None |

This stove rules. Had it for about 4 years, cleaned it only once, used kero in India and petrol everywhere else, it's super hot, light, durable and super reliable. There are no aspects of this stove that could be called a fault. Similar Products Used: None |

excellent stove. need to carry the ""cleaning kit"" just in case, but it's reliable. In over ten years, I've experienced only one failure to ignite, but after much crud had built up from many uses without cleaning: not the stove's fault. Very helpful to have the wind protector around the stove, esp. on cold, windy, and wet mountain tops (ohh duh!). The stove's got such a reputation that one of my buddies, Eliot Franklin in Texas, got me another one from R.E.I. as a wedding gift. Customer Service none (did not need any in about ten years) Similar Products Used: The MSR stoves that burns just about everyting,""Shaker"" |

I think the stove is great. I'm now on my third as I keep selling them in foreign countries while travelling. The stove is worth alot more in coutries outside of N. America. The only problem I've had with it is losing that stupid little O-ring and smashing the pump into 10 pieces when it fell about 2m with a full bottle attached. Replacement pumps are hard to come by and expensive. It really sucks not having one in the middle of a 1 week trip. Customer Service They would not replace my busted pump although this is somewhat understandable. I just wish they made the pump a little stronger. Similar Products Used: Coleman Peak |

As an outdoor leader and frequent outdoor traveller the MSR has proved to be a valuable piece of gear. The shaker Jet reduces the amount of maintance required to keep the stove operating smoothly and having field replaceable parts gives it the edge over the peak stoves. It is small and compact and fits into a pot set. Overall it is good for quick cooking and boiling water, however it is had to keep the stove simmering. An execllent product overall.
