Advanced Summary: Well, I got mine used for a GREAT deal, so I ignored my misgivings about them being too long. I figured they would be
all right for general skiing (too long
for slalom), especially on icy/hardpack
days. I'm female, 5'3", and 115 lbs.
The skis are 160. So yeah, they are way
too much for me!! They're sweet, but
not for someone my size! If me and my skis got in a fight, they would kick my ass. It's almost impossible for me to
stay forward. So yeah, a sweet ski, but
for someone a BIT bigger! Similar Products Used: I've demoed most race stock brands for
both slalom and GS

, from Lake Titicaca, California, USA Summary: The product that I actually skied on was the 2001 model. I used a 163 centimeter length. My first day was a race day where I actually overturned it in the first run. On the second run I smoked everybody bumping me up from sixth to second.
Like any true World Cup ski, this ski has to be finessed. Any lapse at the helm will cause the ski to overpower the skier. The WC SLX is not for the faint of heart. Similar Products Used: Rossignol 9S Slalom

DoubleDiamond
, from Colorado Springs,CO USA Summary: First, let me say the ski pictured is no longer in production. Elan, like all the World Cup pool companies is building a new slalom shortee. This particular ski only is produces in two sizes, 173 and 163. They are designed using the PSX dimensions (100, 62, 85). I've raced in two races this season on them (Rocky Mountain Master's) and have had a first in class and (opps) a DNF(hooked a tip). Guess that integral toe nail didn't help. An incredible ski. Get em if you can find em. I think this is why all the Slovenians are doing so well in slalom on the World Cup Similar Products Used: Rossi Pro 9 Race (the new slalom)
