at Sport Spot, Redbank Home or Favorite Resort: Hunter, NY Product Year: 2000 Summary: Volkl Carver Vectris 191's; First shaped ski I've owned. Unbelievable control and turnability, changed my style from primarily turning with the knees to the hips in a very short period of time. Great short turning ski on steeps also good on long GS runs. I have used these skis on bumps, jumps and halfpipes. A true performer. I need another pair of skis just so I don't ski the base off of these. My next skis will have some tough shoes to fill, so to speak. Strengths: Great versatility, ice, powder, even softer moguls. Surprisingly good "big skier ski" as I am 6' and 225lbs. Weaknesses: A little chattery at high speeds and straights. Sit back too much and you will fly Similar Products Used: Dynamic VR27 195's, Kastle RX 208's

at Burgener Sport Zermatt Home or Favorite Resort: Zermatt Product Year: 99-00 Summary: This is the best ski I ever had. It gives you a superior feeling. Your skiing skills will improve a lot with this product. You get less tired and will manage difficult snow conditions with ease. Strengths: The Carver Vectris 99/01 is a ski for every condition. It goes on powdery, icy, normal and wet spring snow with ease. It turns round very easily and you don`t have to use a lot of strenght. Weaknesses: For my weight (70 kg, 180 cm) this ski is ideal. There are no weaknesses. Maybe this ski is not appropriate for heavy skiers, as it is a pretty soft ski (which doesn`t mean, that it`s no good for higher speed). Similar Products Used: This was my first carving ski.

at Lackie and Joy Home or Favorite Resort: Keystone Product Year: 99-00 Summary: Great overall skis even though to me they are a little heavy. If you want an all around good carving ski, this is for you. Strengths: Easy to carve with and good for short turns. Weaknesses: A little heavy and did not do that well in the moguls. Not that great on ice though. If you go off of jumps, don't get these skis. Similar Products Used: Atomic

at Double Diamond Ski Shop at Killington Home or Favorite Resort: Sugarbush(but I'm pretty sure that'll change after I'm back from a week and a half in Utah!!! Product Year: 2000 Summary: I got the v30's. This is a great ski that I think anyone from intermediate to expert will LOVE! They are that quickest ski I've ever skied, and look great! I think volkl could market these a little better, rather than just advertising the Vertigo(which I've heard is also an awesome ski. I realized that not too many people on the trails have these. A lot of the reviews say that these are too expensive, but for what you're getting, i think it's better value then any other ski! Strengths: Strong rebound, Snappy, short, solid turns, long, gripping turns, good in most powder, and is A LOT OF FUN! Weaknesses: A little too narrow for the real light powder, but thats what you'd expect in this type of ski. Similar Products Used: Dynastar Speed SX(stiff tail that got you stuck in turns.

at Snow Centre Home or Favorite Resort: Whakapapa Product Year: 2000 Summary: These skis are ace. You don't even really need your poles. You only have to put them on an edge and they rake into the turn. Transfering back onto the other edge will snap you back out of the turn. You need to trust the skis to hold the edge when leaning onto the edge to get the most out of these skis. For a stiff ski, they are quite forgiving. The graphics are also impressive. These skis are quite expensive, but they are worth it. Strengths: I got the V31 with the CCSI fitting. They turn extremely easily and are very stiff. The edge holds very well. Very fast. Weaknesses: Due to their stiffness, they are not the best in the bumps. Similar Products Used: K2 Two, Dynastar 4x4, Rossignol Energy Cut 9.9
